A HUGE thankyou to PIL & SAM for getting this up & going! Hopefully have it ready for WFP. Still a bit of work to do & I've hardly lifted a finger! :-[ Hope to see a stack of these on the grid in 2011 ;D
What a day ive had .... got stuffed around by so many people for stock honda bits ...
Took today off especially to get this kart finished and running...feels like ive achieved *censored* all but meet alot of *censored*s
My package from Fastech with radiator etc has been stuck at San Francisco airport for over a week for no apparent reason. Thanks USPS !
Thankfully 'Homebush Karts' came to the rescue and airbaged a radiator and mounts out to me instantly ...
Honda 'forgot' to courier out my spare main jets and gearbox oil ...
The goose that i purchased the kart from didnt send my clutch lever as he said he did, then i find the axle in the kart had a slight bend in it, straight in the bin and another $320 for a 50mm replacement.
Was almost tempted to throw in the towl and just run the 250 single but ive managed to get everything together apart from the clutch lever assembly ...
Fingers crossed i come up with something by Thursday otherwise im gonna take a long walk of a short pier :'(

I got your clutch lever from the Dom! $320 for an axle is bullsh*t, Arrow axles come in 5 grades and they are only 210 ish each (possibly less depending on grade) I can straighten and polish your old one, peice of pi*s for a slab I have main jets you can borrow possibly purchase for the 250 Nat
Ant, I'm really fluent with the French language and really, I only said F@#$ about 3 times when I built Stewie's kart. I'm sure 2 out of the 3 times the french used with the word "OFF" after it because Degan was in my way.
It shouldn't be that hard mate.....you should have stuck with that Arrow X1 you had built instead of stuffing around with some hotshot's kart (sight unseen) who end up stuffing you around. ;)
well we want to hear how the 125 stock honda class went and who was in it and what were the lap times like. I looked at natsoft need to no exactly who was in one.
Hang on Dalton! NO disrespect to Trace who beat me home twice yesterday, all on video so I can't deny, but my fastest Lap was 1.12's, Mr Vickers was doing 1.06's & Trace was best at 1.15 I think. Anyway Mark showed that an experienced MAX driver can get into a STHonda & be on the pace,& be assured he will get faster, & two Rookies can have a ball & improve lap times over the weekend by at least 15 seconds. I can honestly say I thought it would be easier, & I have a new respect for all the webmaster racers.
My first time out I was soo busy in the kart I don't think I even thought about a race line & that produced 1.30's. By the end of the weekend i was a little more relaxed but still along way off confidently circulating but did manage to get some consistent times & hopefully didn't get in the way too much of the rest of the field.
SUMMARY: Wakefield is a tricky little track; The STKHonda is a F*%ken weapon that was simple to run all weekend & a whole lot of fun & challenging enough for anyone to get into I think. Look FWD to practicing & improving along with Tracey & anybody else that comes on board. Penelope PStop was smooth all weekend & just got faster & faster well done it was a blast!Thank you everybody for a GREAT weekend ;D
OK Stewie, if you "shut up and listen to me" you will quit the cigarettes and start getting fit.....maybe even go that leaner main jet as I suggested ;) I put up the video so you can see as you got tired you ran wide on the last turn and then again at turn 2 on the last lap which allowed little Miss Pitstop to make her move right up on the inside and hold her position to the cheqered flag.
Miss Pitstop finished in front of you in Race 3 and Race 4(final) which should put her above you in the current championship standings ;) I think Dalton could be right with his order ;) :D You know we love ya Stewie. :-*
Mate, everyone had a smile from ear to ear in Stock Honda class and we should have another new member very soon.
*********** We also have some very exciting news for the Stock Honda class. We have $1000 CASH prize money for 1st place, a set of MG Yellows for 2nd place and much more for a "Stock Honda" championship to begin sometime soon as we gather more competitors to start the "inner" series. The SPONSORS and PRIZES will be annonounced soon as we finalise the details.

I'll tell you what is tough, when I told Stewie he needs to lean off his main jet on Saturday, Miss Pitstop turned to me and said "Don't help him beat me"......oh yes she did.....from just a newby having fun in a kart, she has started to put on a bit of a race face. ;)

SAM JUST A QUICK QUESTION ON THE CHASSIS WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE THAT HAVE A SPRINT KART THAT WANT TO PUT FRONT BRAKES ON IT AND A STOCK HONDA BUT IT IS NOT CIK APPROVED CHASSIS. DOES THIS REALLY MATTER AS LONG AS IT IS A SPRINT KART.
Mike, Yes it does matter. It stops people making their own chassis to a spec that may be more advantage and better suited to road racing over a CIK tagged chassis....eg, laydown, steering height, wheelbase length, upright front end etc etc. Not having any crap whinging like what recently happened with HyperMax seats/angles etc. The easiest and cleanest way to fix all these areas is to have the CIK tag with no mods to the chassis as put into the proposed rules. Most sprint chassis have CIK tag anyway. This rule works perfect in the USA so it can work here also. We need to cut all the crap and perceptions that "this guy is always winning because his done this or that to his chassis".
The idea of this class is the driver's skill and chassis setup, no chassis mod advantage, no engine mod advantage, NOT to create any additional expenses based on someone's perception once your started racing.
If your looking for a really cheap but excellent shifter chassis already with front brakes, gear stick etc, I can find you one better and cheaper than you can assemble one yourself.
....AND PLEASE STOP TYPING IN CAPS....THIS MEANS YOUR SHOUTING. ;)
Carb is the right one, (PWM) but it has been modded with the pump around tube hanging off it. No mods allowed to carby. The pump around pumps can be disassembled and reconfigured into a standard single Mikuni pump.
So Carb, RCE Pipe and RCE muffler need to be changed to our rules.
Brand New in USA * Standard 38mm PWM carb - approx US$215 * RLV R4 Pipe and muffler - approx US$420 + shipping / taxes.
It was a badly worn rear brake hub, the pins that float and hold the rotor to carrier had worn into the soft alloy carrier making it really sloppy basically ... I replaced the carrier with a new magnesium unit and a new rear rotor just to be sure ;)
Just put a new seal kit through the brakes today, the kart is now MINT !
Hope you can make it on Sunday, should be a good meet !
You should bring your kart up here and have a run, i can get very cheap freight if you need ...
I can just imagine the new stock Honda being delivered to Stewy's house and his wife answering the door........it would have to be hidden at your place Ant.
What a great track Lakeside is and thanks very much to all for a great day ...
x20 entries was a top effort by the Qld club. Well Done !
The Stock Honda was faultless all day ...
All i did was lube the chain, add fuel and dropped a main jet size from 188 to 185.
Alot of fun to drive and really teaches you to be ultra smooth to get the most out of it.
Need to check Natsoft but I went from 1.03.46 in Q1 that put me in P5 to 1.00.74 in Race 3.
Race 1 i finished 5th or 6th outright but got pinned 30sec penalty for jump start, got a little excited as i seen the green flag and didnt realise that you need to wait untill the control line :-[
Race 2 started well and was in P5 but then red light came out on lap 3 and half the field pitted, incl me so we all received DNF's for pitting early ... :-\
Was'nt really happy bout that as Red light to me means stop racing return to pit ...
Race3 finished in P4 behind John Hays bullett Sodi KZ2 kart and my times had dropped to 1.01's
Race4 finished in P3 with a new PB of 1.00.74
Im still running very very rich as it was the first meet for my new Swedetech engine and i wanted to keep it very safe, i could have gained alot more i think atleast .5-1sec if i went to a 180 main jet and dropped 1 or 2 teeth on the rear gear.
So in saying that im sure with a little more time i could get this package into the low 59's without to much stress which isnt too bad for lakeside i think considering its a hp circuit ...
Am i happy i have a Stock Honda in the garage ? You betcha, best toy ive ever purchased PERIOD !
If anyone is seriously considering in running Stock Honda .. Do it NOW !

Mike Wayne, Steve Castles, Stocky, Miss Pitstop..... they will tell you how good it is in the USA....I'm excited that it won't be long before we got it happening in good numbers here. Good for the sport and good for the competitors racing them.
Penelope Pitstop and her 'Compact Pusycat' will be raced in our Wacky Races, not drag races. I see Dalton's avatar is Dick Darstardly and Muttley in the '00 Mean Machine'.
I can't wait for Eastern Creek Practice day when the guy at the end of Pit Lane checking wrist passes sees these bigs lips going out on the track. What about people on the top of the granstand seeing a big set of lips going down the main straight.... ;D They are 100% completely real, no botox used.

Big vibration in the rear, did my head in trying to work out what it is ..
Put it down to a massively worn rear brake carrier as the cutouts were the floating pins go through arnt true ...
Over it ...
Just got home now, going to bed ... Up at 5am and heading to Wakefield with the 250 ...
