A HUGE thankyou to PIL & SAM for getting this up & going! Hopefully have it ready for WFP. Still a bit of work to do & I've hardly lifted a finger! :-[ Hope to see a stack of these on the grid in 2011 ;D

Yes Mike, well spotted. My nose cone is illegal to the current version of PROPOSED rules I have published. So there is the next BIG question; 1) Do we have a nose cone as per current Rotax Max Rules? 2) Do we have a single make controlled nose cone only, if so who will be the supplier without any objections? 3) Do we just run CIK plastic nose cone and lose the "webmaster" look.
I don't want to see people spend unnessesary money each year on the next new style "flavour of the month" nose cone like has happened in 100NGB and Rotax Max. Advantage or No advantage, it creates perception that one kart has better areo then the other. I want everyone to think they have the same as the next person.
If anyone has a good answer to a nose cone rule for us, let me know, otherwise I will let the 10 or so stakeholders who invest into Stock Honda webmaster vote what they think is best for them. It's their class, they will control what's best for them. I'm only helping drive the concept so people can have an entry level, low cost and controlled gearbox class.
SAM WITH YOU ON THAT ONE AS THERE IS A RULE IN PLACE TO RUN CIK APPROVED KARTS WHAT ABOUT STATING THAT YOU HAVE TO USE THE FACTORY SUPPLIED FRONT NOSE CONE THAT COMES OUT WITH THAT PARTICULAR CHASSIS YOU PURCHASE LIKE THE OTHER 2 KARTS IN THE PHOTO AT THE CREEK. AS LONG AS ARROW , CRG , GOLD AND OTHERS DONT START DEVELOPING NOSE CONES FOR THAT CLASS. JUST A THOUGHT.
I'm going to weigh in here with personal opinion no bias to be read into it only from a complete rookie. SAM Start selling tickets as it'll more than likely happen again as Martin and I really piss each other off in a short amount of time and we will have the journey up there together first as well!!
I’ve tried motorbike shops here in Geelong and Melbourne and no one has been able to help for the number plates. Every 250 kart (4) I've built in the last four years for Darren to run has had either a aluminium or bodged up, piece of shite fibreglass or plastic one and usually only fitted for the first time at the track just before first practice. I would really appreciate a shop name/number/website etc so I can order some well in advance for 2012?
Oh, I found 4 of those (old type 8+ years old) 35mm alxes unkeyyed that you were asking for a while back. Let me know if you’re interested.
PIL007, sleep is something you only need to worry about:- A) When your dead and B) When your driving the car along the freeway, repeatedly waking up to other car horns and head lights flashing in your eyes!!
MCS is located at Sumner Park Brissy which is 5mins down the road from me, if you can convince them to let me pick them up for you I'm good with that. As they are only a supplier you may have toorder & pay for them online & then maybe they'd let me pick up a box??Anyway offers there if needed :)
Thanks for the offer guys. Ill see what I can organise with them on Monday.
ABR, you are in luck, I have a mate coming out to me tomorrow arvo that can take your bumper to get chromed on Monday so if you get those sizes to me now, or tell me exactly what kart you have, I will look it up and finish making it , that way you can still have it for/at Wakefeild instead of afterwards.

Worst Case Ant....stiil get Scott to bring it UNCHROMED. You can do it yourself later if need be but it would be more expensive than having Scott do the whole job for you.
Spent about 5hrs today with my BRM Stock Honda, its about 80% completed.
Just need to: Mount Radiator and Hoses. Install Throttle and Clutch Cables. Fit chain and pipe/silencer supports. Fit new seat Mount Mychron 3 with EGT and Water temp. Red Number boards
LOOKING GOOD ABR YOU WOULD THINK THAT WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE THE SIDE POD FOR THE SIDE NUMBER BY NOW AS WE ALL HAVE DORIAN TIMERS MAYBE WE SHOULD TRY TO GET THAT ONE THROUGH? ON YOUR SIDE PODS WHERE THE YELLOW SQUARE IS IT WOULD BE SO EASY TO CHANGE TO RED THROW THE NUMBERS ON AND YA DONE NO BRACKETS. IM SURE SOMEONE HAS A ANSWER FOR THAT. ???

Reason for the specific size plate, numbers and font style is simple. Lap scoring is done manually as well as through the dorian system. The lap scorers need to be able to see a number. The little numbers on side pods at speed in a bunch are near impossible to see.

Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
THANKS FOR THAT AND WHAT IS THE NOSE CONE ON YOURS AT EASTERN CREEK IN THE PHOTOS FROM THE PRACTICE DAY.
Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
My nose cone is illegal to the current version of PROPOSED rules I have published.
So there is the next BIG question;
1) Do we have a nose cone as per current Rotax Max Rules?
Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
WITH YOU ON THAT ONE AS THERE IS A RULE IN PLACE TO RUN CIK APPROVED KARTS WHAT ABOUT STATING THAT YOU HAVE TO USE THE FACTORY SUPPLIED FRONT NOSE CONE THAT COMES OUT WITH THAT PARTICULAR CHASSIS YOU PURCHASE LIKE THE OTHER 2 KARTS IN THE PHOTO AT THE CREEK. AS LONG AS ARROW , CRG , GOLD AND OTHERS DONT START DEVELOPING NOSE CONES FOR THAT CLASS. JUST A THOUGHT.
Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
That's what all karts will come with..
There all basically the same design and they look nice and clean.
Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
I know there are others with experience BUT Sam "ELVIS" Zavaglia not only has put time behind the wheel in these karts & others, his passion & valuable time used to get the proposed class to a starting point in Australia, with bucket loads of solid information available for a newcomer to the sport, should have people begging him to set up the rules & guidelines for this class all of which, as he has stated, up for discussion.
The bottom line is Sam has the health & growth of webmastering as his main motivation, Ya can't ask for more than that!
Therefore the "Elvis" rules should be taken as law until a season or two is under everybodys belt & if any improvements or changes are needed they can be proposed & voted on down the track.
My only concern, which goes back into the original post on the stockHondas, is the bloody nosecone. Let's face it, all Sam's rules are tighter for
1/ cost effective & fairness of setups.
2/ focus on Karts chassis set up & driver ability not "Wallet" ability =close exciting racing.
BUT..apart from the aerodynamic advantages on a long track, I want my Kart to look DIFFERENT from a sprint Kart & make me feel like a SUPER karter
There I've said it, PLEASE to satisfy the egotistical human nature of "mines bigger than yours" let's allow ONE control, cost effective, sexy nose cone for the Australian Stock Honda! I am well aware of the arguements that it adds to cost, etc etc....but it just makes them fit the laypersons image of webmaster as opposed to Gokart.I mean no offence to anybody out there that just runs plastics, I'm just sayin' we all lovea body kit on our cars, women,BBQ & boats. Actually.......I would like to see Marty Latta and Scott Ellis do their Judo roll around moves under the Wakefield carports. It's much better than UFC last night.

SAM
Start selling tickets as it'll more than likely happen again as Martin and I really piss each other off in a short amount of time and we will have the journey up there together first as well!!
PIL007,
sleep is something you only need to worry about:-
A) When your dead and
B) When your driving the car along the freeway, repeatedly waking up to other car horns and head lights flashing in your eyes!!

Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
ABR,
you are in luck, I have a mate coming out to me tomorrow arvo that can take your bumper to get chromed on Monday so if you get those sizes to me now, or tell me exactly what kart you have, I will look it up and finish making it , that way you can still have it for/at Wakefeild instead of afterwards.
Cheers
Scott

Worst Case Ant....stiil get Scott to bring it UNCHROMED. You can do it yourself later if need be but it would be more expensive than having Scott do the whole job for you.

Dont forget we are not a class YET therefore run under 125gb rules ...
Re: Who else got one for Xmas?
