Tiger Kart Club hosted the Western Australian State Sprintkart Championships at the newly resurfaced and refurbished Cockburn Circuit over the weekend of Fri, Sat, Sun 1,2,3 October 2010.
Six months later, Tiger Kart Club hosted the Easter Nationals 2011 at the Cockburn Circuit. This was a great opportunity for the club to offer its hospitality to a large number of interstate visitors.
A range of good accommodation options are available in Fremantle or neighbouring suburbs along the coast. Many visitors choose to stay in Perth city as the travel time to the track is short and easy via freeway access. Caravan parks, hotel/motel accommodation are abundant in the region.
Tiger Kart Club (Inc) is a busy, vibrant club formed to provide sprint kart racing for members. Tiger Kart Club has some 240 licenced drivers as well as a considerable number of social and non driving members.
The club is fortunate to have two international standard racing facilities – one located south of the river, Cockburn International Kartway, Gemma Road, Henderson, and the other near Barbagallo Raceway, Wanneroo International Kartway, located at Wattle Avenue, Neerabup.
Both tracks are licensed for 40 karts. Usually for an "Open" meeting, the "full track" is used – 1070m for Cockburn, and 1025m for Wanneroo. At both tracks, we are able to run clockwise and there are many different configurations and track lengths available at each track and these are generally used on Club Days.
Club Day Racing is usually on the third weekend of the month, alternating from the Cockburn circuit to the Wanneroo circuit on a bi-monthly basis.
At the Wanneroo circuit, we have installed lighting which is second to none. This gives us the ability to hold night racing (usually in the summer months), and to offer night practice to members.
