A HUGE thankyou to PIL & SAM for getting this up & going! Hopefully have it ready for WFP. Still a bit of work to do & I've hardly lifted a finger! :-[ Hope to see a stack of these on the grid in 2011 ;D

Get it right Sammy. I cleaned up on "Stockman" only because it was carrying the white number 1 on a red background after young Steven Tamasi won the Nationals in 125's that year. You had to have the omen bet on "Super Sammy" and I think it is still running.

I would like to put the feelers out Aust. wide on how many Stock Hondas would enter both national rounds...? I may consider (if Stewy lets me) racing Stewy's Stock in the nationals if we can get a (unoffical) recognized class which i'm guessing will depend numbers. Sam can you chime in here as previously discussed.. I'm guessing Mark Vickers is in and Me......maybe Ant...Blacky's mob..Tracy's kart.?
Well thanks Paul for revealing my plans before they are totally laid out.....but here goes anyway to spoil the surprise.
I have had a couple of discussions with SKA stakeholders suggesting that if they would recognize the "Stock Honda" within the 125GB category for at least trophy presentation in 2011, I will produce a minimum of 5 entrants they wouldn't otherwise get at the 2011 Australian Championships for Eastern Creek and Phillip Island.
Stock Honda 'Nationals' racing will not be competing for 2011 CAMS Champion status, simply recognised by the SKA, the Australian webmastering community and presented with trophies to the place holders. They are racing for themselves but entered amongst the 'Open 125GB' class as they can anyway, just like Dalton did at Morgan Park in 2010.
The SKA were very receptive of my idea and verbally agreed to have them recognised. I will also be chasing a class sponsor for this "entry level gearbox concept" to also supply awards for Nationals presentation.
So there's my idea which I canāt see why it shouldnāt work. It will encourage and foster new membership into Australian webmastering since it's run at āhigherā profile event on our calendars.
All current Stock Hondaās will be made available if the current owners are not yet off their āPā plates to enter. So a little bit of work to do, but hey, who would have thought that less than 6 months ago with only 1 demonstration kart, hopefully by July 2011 a whole gaggle of them.
We have to start somewhere, I feel this is a excellent opportunity to showcase the concept.
And yes Iām on the prowl for someone with a Full National CAMS webmaster License to drive Traceyās 'Pink Compact Pusycatā, for an all-expenses paid, kart delivered to the tracks, driver only pays the SKA entry fees.
**** On another noteā¦.stay tuned because by popular encoragement, a 'NSW Stock Honda Club Championship in 2011' with an already committed $1500 cash prize money, set of tyres / prizes currently totalling $2000. More details later so the sponsors of this championship can be formally recognised.

Rolf, Technically the karts are entered as open 125GB class to be eligable to enter the race meeting. This would require the driver to hold a National CAMS webmaster license. We and the SKA know they are "Stock Honda spec" so we can recognise that separately.

Sam In the rules you posted they are different to the yanks for example carbs and pipes for the yanks there are choices but here you want to use the pwm and rlv 4 only is that due to the fact this is a good set up and makes it even easier to control the rules. Why is the pump around fuel system banned isnt it more effiecent and less problems without having floats etc. Just asking the question thought you might no why its banned as well.
Sam will correct me if I'm wrong but the whole idea for Aus Stock Honda is to keep it as simple, cost effective and relaible as possible.
The pump around carby mod is more problematic and so far we have had no failures due to fuel surge so it's not necessary at this stage. If we start having failures then I'd say it will be approved.
The silencer option is controlled to the RLV as there is talk that the M4 has a very slight topend advantage.
ABR I no its about cost effective and reliable and so on but some have the pwk carby and the rlv 2 pipe and im sure there is no big hp difference between a pwm and a pwk or the r4 and r2 pipe. Some one might buy a second hand set up from the states with the pwk and r2 pipe legal there and not here. I thought at the start of this thread we were going to run exactly as the yanks do it because all the work had been done. Go back and read there rules as put on here by them for us. ;D ;D
Mike, The PWM is easiest to tune and best performance over all other carbs of simular value. It is the latest design by Kehien and most commonly used in the USA Stock Honda.
The RLV R4 is the best performing pipe for road racing, cost effective and again the most commonly used in USA. There is also a RCE T3 that is simular but we need to spec only 1 pipe only to keep the overall costs down and since the RLV is cheaper and more popular in USA it was selected into our rules.
Ant is spot on about the pump around. This rule did my head in but after nearly a year without pump around tested at bumpy Wakefield Pk and Morgan Pk, long sweaping corners of Phillip Island and Eastern Creek, the float level is not touched from factory PWM setting and has worked perfectly on every corner of every race. We have never had any surge issue whatsoever. How simple, a round Mikunki pump direct to the PWM carb with return to the fuel tank. Pump around creates MORE troubles than it's worth (trust me on that, did my head in at Miller 2010) and while we don't see any issues thus far in Australia, lets not create issues. It also keeps the expense down. (only 1 pump not 2 and not mods to carby required). The only reason I can see why pumparound is popular in USA is because the engine builder gets paid more so recommends it.....then the customer is just "monkey see, monkey do"
I put a lot of thought based on Stock Honda experience from the USA. I specifically went to the USA in 2010 not to race my kart but to race a couple of different Stock Honda's and talk to the experienced guys who have been in road racing all their lives, put engines together, always up front, to put these rules together and make a start in Australia. These guys are also watching what we are doing downunder and actually want to come racing sometime soon when we get our numbers up with good competition.
Ultimately it will be the people who have invested into the class by way of karts on the track that will give future direction in having equal say to what they are wanting/needing. So far it's working great but feedback is not only welcomed but encoraged!
Mike, R2 pipe is totally hopeless compared to R4. Some orgs in USA even give a weight break for those who have them. The issue is not about perfomance of a RLV vs RCE or performance of PWM or PWK.
The issue is about PERCEPTION that the guy who is winning or up front must have an ADVANTAGE because he has "this pipe" or "that carb". This then starts a rumour effect and then everyone goes and buys one of each. We don't need this "PERCEPTION" issue. Think of this class as a ROTAX MAX engine style rule but with a gearbox.
We are lucky because we can start fresh knowing what's good and what's not. In the USA, the class evolved from many years of different pipes, carbs, etc, now we in Australia can just pick and choose what is learnt from the USA and start clean. I'm sure we will also evolve as time goes by, but the less options TODAY the MUCH BETTER it is.
Mike, Also with some of the crazy prices of rolling shifter chassis of late in Australia, (how does $2000 sound for a excellent used roller) it's cheaper than your freight charges from USA without the hassle and worry. If your looking at used in the USA, you'll be better off sending engine package in, but seriously there is a lot of crap stuff out there.....most have no idea of looking after their equipment and is well worn.
Rolf I think there would be about 5 or 6 now incl our new one, but if we're not using it, I'll make sure I chuck someone in it for the National's in 2012 ...
Dougie that's the plan, see how she goes after a few test days first ...
Good on you Ant.....If i sell the twin, I'll build at least one more and i think we can get Sammy into another as well. Phillip island was all they said it would be and more....

I thought it was due to the last launch of Space Shuttle Discovery - which we watched live then 3 times again.
Then he tells me to go to the garage and there's a huge pair of pink lips staring at me from my kart! H-e-l-p :o!
Now don't get me wong - it looks awesome with the new colour scheme and the Penelope Pitstop sticker and those lips.
And I do like Penelope's sense of style and the way she wins her races 8).
But I'm sure I told him that I didn't want anything to identify me as a girl out on the track ;).
On the bright side, It'll give a whole new meaning to being 'kissed' when I rear end some one though :-*!
Thank you Sam. I love it ;D.
