Ok for those of you who sometimes get as bored as I do or you're a connoisseur of a damn good race track, here's a good chance to let your imagination run wild!
What I want to see is your vision of the ultimate kart track. The more detail in the picture the better, but this isn't a drawing competition. After an amount of time (lets just say a month or so) members of Kartbook will vote on which track they think would be the best to drive. (if Kartbook admins will help me with the voting bit!)
The person who designs the track that gets the most votes will receive (as donated by me):
1 x Inox MX3
1 x Inox MX5
1 x Inox MX9 'No Chukka Chain Lube'
1 x Inox MX11 Chain & Brake Clean
To see details of these products go to www.inox-mx3.com
Now remember it's about kart tracks, so no Hot Wheels style loop de loops etc.
A breif description of the track would also be nice, detailing length, width, maybe an explination of the corners to give voters a real 'vision' of the track.
So grab your crayons, draw on a coast mat, hit up some photoshop and show us what you've got!
P.S. I was going to make this a hidden competition by e-mail, but that's just too much work. If you are found to have copied someone elses design, even if it's just a couple of corners, your entry may not be included in the vote or you may be asked to redo your track.
Happy days!

OMG OMG OMG...............
My dream have come true. I dont know about anyone else but one of my nerdy little past times is looking at EVERY single kart track i can find on google earth.
My only concern is im not overly computer illiterate and i wouldnt know how to get my track design onto here.
My email is Team_Lactose@live.com.au i would appreciatte any help anyone could provide because i would really like to be part of this.
Cheers Ben
draw it up on paper Ben and im sure someone near you will scan it in and submit on your behalf.
I don't know where to start after racing on tracks in Vic and NQ combinig them into an ultimate track will be a challenge.pucka swan hill, townsville ect this will be interesting.
Hey Damian
What software are you using to draw up your tracks?
Mick
This'll be fun... I used to doodle race tracks in my schoolbooks all the time :P
Might be worth looking into "Bob's Track Builder" too, for those that are so inclined - it's a very handy (& homegrown) application to create tracks for games such as rFactor, RBR & the EA F1 games.. It's very easy to use (to do a layout anyway... finer details take much time & patience!) & we can have a 3D view of the track, plus I'm pretty sure it has a function which drives you round the layout at drivers eye view....
I think a great track has to have elevation, a mix of corners, rideable kerbs & a demonic bump or two that is invisble to the eye, but makes ya clench your teeth everytime ya drive over it :)
Looks good Damian, parts of it reminds me of the Mildura track a little.
Might have to get me some of these programs!
I reckon it would an awesome track to drive on but trying to get the perferct set up and gearing with the long straights, flat out corners then tight cicanes is gonna be hard
Cheers Shane

Got a digital camera Ben? Draw your track on paper, take a photo (ideally outside in the shade, so that the light is nice and even) and then when you add another post to this thread hit the Upload Files link before you hit Add Reply.
Last year sometime there was a little bit of talk around oakliegh about changing / expanding the track. Now it was never very serious and i dont think there are any plans at all for the short term (so dont get excited) but at the time there where a few people saying there is no way we could fit a track in other then whats already there.
So just to show that a different type of track could fit into oaklieghs land i drew this...
Its not at all my entry for "best layout" but just thought id upload it anyway, while im still trying to design my "ultimate track".
PS: for the guys who havnt been to oakliegh as it now stands, the land used for that added upper track section is currently used for pit space, however there is SO much room in the upper pits it isnt really needed!
PPS: The climb up to where the out grid is would be a fairly gradual hill, where as coming back the other way, the upper section would be flat-ish so we can have a bit of a 'down-hill' chicane before coming back onto the current oakliegh straight.
Looking good guys, kepp the entries coming!

That is an awsome design, I'd love it if Oak did that :D

i tried making it in sketchit but found it too hard.
in this, the green is run off cement, the brown is wood chips and the faded black in the top left is an incline (hill)
