As the title asks, I'm simply curious as to what the difference is from a technical point of view between KZ1 and KZ2. I've seen European websites that sell say the Vortex RVX which say the engine is suitable for use in both KZ1 and KZ2. Whats up with that? Similarly, whats the difference between KF1 and KF2 because I saw a similar sort of thing with those engines too.

Rev limiter, Carbie & exhaust I believe.
I believe there is also the difference of numbers in the name, but this is only a slight issue.
KZ1 and KZ2 engine rules identical except KZ1 allows electro mechanical gearbox control
KZ1 170kg
KZ2 175kg
KZ1 normally CIK Soft compound tyres
KZ2 normally CIK Medium compound tyres
KF1 (now mostly Super KF) and KF2 similar but
SKF 16000 rpm limiter
KF2 15000 rpm limiter
SKF 160kg
KF2 158kg
SKF free inlet and exhaust porting, free combustion chamber volume, free cylinder block height, etc, etc. However stroke, bore, rod centreline as per homologation papers. 30mm carb
KF2 9cc min combustion chamber, ports and ducts as per homologation papers. 24 mm carb
SKF normally CIK Soft compound tyres
KF2 normally CIK Medium compound tyres

Well expainled there, obviously New Zealand is far more in touch with CIK than Australia is...
We have KF2 - Old stock IAME Reedster with 24mm carb, but now ive heard they are going to run the KF1 ignition to let them rev an extra 1000rpm. Where does this fall into CIK?
Hillbillies...
Thanks Robert, I figured they were details like that. That clears it all up then!
I was way off... lol cheers Robert.
