Hi all, I just bought a Rotax with the intention of putting it on my AMax but when I had a closer look I realised it had a Topkart Evo hanging off it. I am told its 32/32 but I haven't laid eyes on it yet.
I don't know much about the Topkart's, do you guys think that this will be any good for TaG restricted? I also have the option of running TaG Red Heavy with the NKA (on MG reds). I'm thinking it might be a bit stiff I'd love to hear from anyone who has used one on reds.

Scott, In my opinion, the 32/32 of the EVO would be a little stiff. A 30/32 would be the better option for the class weight. The EVO would suit a Tag Res Super H better as the class weight is 200kg. You need a big body mass to get the 32/32 to work well, or super sticky tyres.
i drove a evo for 2 years in clubman heavy on reds and it was an unreal kart. dont think you will have any probs gettin it to go. if you want to know anything about the kart like seat position let me know.
Thanks for the feedback, I had the kart out for the first time at an NKA meeting at Wollongong. Was on the pace pretty quickly in qualifying but started to struggle for rear grip on initial turn in a bit in the evening as the track got cold. Ended up running 4th in the final so was reasonably happy with my first run in TaG
Feeling like with some testing I can get it to work better. Looks like too much caster and Its got really short hubs atm so I might start there.
Clinton - did you ever run with the rear torsion bar in and if so did it help?
never run with the rear bar in. when the kart starts to slide(with the evo) it had too much rear grip. try and stick with a 90mm hub on and if the kart starts to slide try a softer axle. the evo has alot of mechanical grip in it and they always slide with too much grip.
