before i start i must stress the fact that the club takes this as constructive criticism and not a dig at them
the track layout has a very fast left hand corner at the end of the straight that runs straight into a right kink and then a double left ,very nice and very fast ,now the problem is that the in grid is just after the right kink at the end of the straight and as i mentioned the fasted part of the track ,now they put out the checkered flag at the out grid which is at the last point of the double left and during practice some drivers would of course go past the checkered flag and go wright around and come in as most race drivers would expect to pass the flag before they come in ,WRIGHT ,well not so come Sunday morning the grid Marshall told drivers that carby session would be 2 laps and 2 laps only ,,all good and well untill the drivers put the helmets on and go out the gate guess what happens next ,karts go out and karts go around some for 2 laps and some for 1 and 3 quarter laps ,yes 1 and 3 quarter laps remember the flag point is at the out grid and the finish line is even further along and the Ingrid is before you come past the flag ???? and thats where the problem starts the officals were telling drivers (,seniors and midgets, juniors which ever class )that they were told 2 laps cant you count hhhmmm could you imagine some of the answers from parents and drivers and crew
guys 2 full laps for carby session go across the the finish line back thru the cut thru job done,,
in Practice use your last flag point at the end of the straight to tell drivers to come in much safer for everyone
apart from thoughs points the racing was very well run as has all the country seris rounds no time wasting between races and packed up at a decent time i look forward to the final round at Warrrnambool

Glad I didn't bother going out in Carbie then.. Lol
Ray,
I understand what you mean, and I will bring it to the attention of our comittee at our meeting next week. It is just one of the shortcomings of having the in grid before the out grid.
Cheers

Also Andrew I would like to remind you that we{94 Rookies} arrived Friday night to get a full days practice in and around 11am Sat after approx 3 sessions the program was changed and announcements where getting made on changes and where told to be patient. Rookies where not called on loud speaker and we missed that session as did one other karter and then program was changed again to advertised program. We finally went onto the track at 1pm which was 2 hours between sessions. Surely when you are having a big weekend. a program, can be put in place that is fair to everyone and if someone changes it that 'all' are taken into account especially the young karters who cant wait 2 hours.

Yep, we sat there for 2 and a half hours with you when UNCONTROLLED practice was on. Chris you have to expect anything, anytime and anywhere.
We were doing official practice at the WA state titles and they were painting the kurbs and we had to drive 6 feet out past the witches hats.
Talk about rigged.
Cheers
Frank
