Anyone know the best way to clean the exhaust and restrictor on an X30? Its the new one if that makes any difference. Was thinking of soaking in caustic soda for a few days? Iv tried carb cleaner and a rag but the carbon build up in the restrictor is pretty hard and the new pipe has that rusty look after half a dozen track days.
Any ideas are appreciated

Take it to Graves Engineering at Newton (8337 2551).
He'll stick it in his tank for a few days (longer the better though) and it'll come out like new but you will need to reapply some heat proof paint. I think he charges about $20 but don't quote me on that.
Hope this helps mate.
Caustic so do will do the trick, I soaked mine for 1 day and the carbon came off easy
Give it a wipe down with wd after every meet and it will prevent the rust
