The 2018 Queensland Superkart Series headed to Queensland Raceway for Rd 4 of 6 for the 2018 Season. The championship is starting to take shape with only a few points separating the guys at the top!
250 International had the guys grinning with excitement from the close racing they enjoyed all weekend long. Taking home the top prize was Michael Nicholas after a some solid drives on Sunday to pip Brian Wild at the post by only 56 points (1250 vs 1194) rounding out the podium was Steve Cloake after sorting out his issues with the VM powered Stockman. #winners #championship #superkarts #QSC2018
250 National was action packed all weekend. Taking his first race win in the last race of the weekend which sealed the round victory as well was Johnny La Spina. Johnny shaved nearly 3 seconds off his previous PB at QR. 2nd was Lachlan Crisp @lachlancrisp10 leading into the last race until a split radiator ending his weekend with a DNF. 3rd was Dan Lewis having a mixed bag of results with an exhaust failure in race 2 and knocking the carby off in race 4 slowed his progress after winning race 1 on Saturday. #championship #winners #superkarts #QSC2018
125 National again put on a show as Darryl Bertram from @australianamericanracing tried to chase down Phil Silcock all weekend. Phil would prove too fast in the Csystems TM powered Avoig taking 1st overall from Darryl. 3rd place was Alex Hussey getting to grips with his RS powered Stockman chassis. Race 1 winner Jon bothamely would suffer 3 seperate muffler fires to see his weekend challenge go up in smoke #winners #championship #superkarts #QSC2018
The 85cc Gearbox class goes from strength to strength with close racing all weekend and everyone coming back with a smile on their faces. Taking home top prize was Scott Jamieson extending his lead in the championship after his nearest rival Keith Taylor stuck engine troubles in race 3&4. 2nd and the Man behind the revival of the 85's Drene Jamieson had a smile from ear to ear all weekend. 3rd and missing from the photo was @bdouglas_37 Bayley Douglas having his best weekend and constantly improving his lap times.
Winners are grinners taking out the Non-Gearbox Aero class was Peter Nuske after putting in another flawless performance over the weekend. 2nd place and keeping Pete honest all weekend was Nicholas Marshall. 3rd our newest member Leighton Cook who managed to shave 7 seconds off his best lap during the weekend he will be one to watch at future rounds!! #championship #winners #superkarts #QSC2018

It used (2 years ago) to be $80 for half day - 8.30-12.30 or $120 for a full day 8.30 - 4.30. Things have certainly gone up!!!
Hi Richard
Those prices still stand for Friday practice sessions $80 half/$120 full but weekend session have always been $120 half and $140 full but the afternoon is usually a sprint session for cars.
Thanks
Tim
Sorry Tim, didn't realise 26th August was a Saturday. Timothy Weier said:

Already have 5 club members attending, if you have a kart in the shed why not drag it out and try long circuit karting? There's never been as easier time to get on the black stuff!!

It's race week and the Superkarts are back at Queensland Raceway for Round 5. After claiming the lead at Rd 4 Scott Jamieson will be looking to extend it over Keith Taylor who has had his emgine tuned by the 85cc Master. Bayley Douglas @bdouglas_37 has had a heart transplant since last time now with a YZ Yamaha powering his Briel chassis. Substituting for Drene Jamieson is his brother Chryss, Chryss is normally behind the wheel of a 250 International but sees himself in the Yamaha powered Gladiator this time. #superkarts #letsgoracing #championship #QSC2018

Getting ever closer to race day and as always the TAG class will be one to watch!! Peter Nuske has been doninate so far with 17wins only 1 DNF against his name. Nick Marshall will need to be on his toes as Leighton Cook will be looking to improve on his debut performance that saw him shadow Nick for most of the races. Raymond Ralph will be out to make amends after a radiator failure last time caused him to miss Sundays action. David Dyson will be looking for more solid results this weekend to close the gap in the championship. Too fast for the cameras is @77racingteamqld with Ben Longland behind the wheel, Ben was MIA at the last round after crewing for some v8 supercar teams. #letsgoracing #championship #winners #superkarts #QSC2018
