anything about future or are they just going to keep putting them back and back ? how will they get their money back they lent out if NO ONE MUST use one???
Tim,
The ONE of the sad things was this was supposed to be TAG!!! NOT these outboard starters!!!! we have made the grid MORE dangerous than before and clubs now have to widen the grid for them!!!!
Don't even mention the safety reason they were brought in for!!!!! seems its NOT really a safety item at all!!!!!!
I am one of the older type parents who find the clutch a real life saver.
My boy would not have been able to run at all if I had to push at the recent Qld States.
We did manage a pole with a clutch. So dont take them away from us that need them
Steve
There wont be any move to take them away, no chance of getting their $270k back then!!!
They should have been TAGGED not outbord starters.
and what would this have achieved?? more money in shitting starter motors every couple of months?

Hi Luke,
We were told back when it started there was a SAFETY issue, the grid was too crowded, ppl hurt themselves falling over etc etc [ no actual insurance figure to back any of this up] so the go was TAG, clear grids, NO pushers falling over, no stalled karts holding up the meeting etc. BUT somehow it all went pear shape and now we have option clutches and clubs having to widen grids to accomodate the starter. + having a push button start beats having to be picked up at the end of a race as the AKA do NOT allow starters to be taken out onto the track. TAG way better than outboard starters. But its all history now .
4 YEARS TO ADDRESS A SAFETY ISSUE!!!!
And yes me thinks it will be optional and let the market deal with it.

I understand everyone has differing opinions on clutches but when clutches were due to come in January we bought our clutch and starter about the September or October before. We were told get in and get one there might be a shortage by January. Still have our receipts, so who do I send them to for my compensation now it doesn't seem you have to have one?

i agree with this. it's safer (no more external starters lying around, and no more dodging the big bloke in the middle of the grid), of a similar price and more convenient when starting.
