After - Stripped back down to chassis, freshen up, new paint and stickers, Mychron wheel and extra sensors, carbon floor, wiring wasnt too bad but still managed to simplify and clean it up some more. All prep/paint/signage done by me in the shed ;)
Your design looks great but.. :-X Actually was more after where/ cost etc you had them done as I will be changing graphics on mine to PIL's "Labour Options" team colours we are still workin' that out & set up $'s are first priority.
lets see what happens ;)
Hey Marty, Are you throwing out a challenge to young Dalton?
I can personally say that I fixed the FUEL PUMP on Dalton's National yesterday while up in Tamworth. I'm sure he will do more than 2 laps next time on the track. Better bring your 6 speed with the full "A" game if your coming up to Wakefield Marty. :D
Stewy, Just finished your kart and is now ready for running next Saturday. Degan has just left, maybe it's me who needs the bloody ear muffs.....ohhh the questions and questions and then not listening to me....getting as bad as Alex :D
Here are some photos for you to drool, just keep it in your pants..... OK.
These are the karts I owned and ran in 2010 from left to right in the top pic Anderson Mirage, Anderson Maverick and Stockman Mr2. The Stockman was the oldest of them all but got more results than the other 2 combinded. By the way there was no green on the mirage when I owned it, white looked much better ;)
Here are the 2 karts we will be running at this years nationals the 67 kart arrived at about 4 pm last thursday fresh from viper racing UK,which left me just enough time to get it scrutinered and logbooked to run on saturday at the island. All went well with a clean sweep so with a decent driver at the wheel I am hoping for a great result next weekend
Its actually a 2008 model chassis but it has done very little work It didn't even have a scratch on the underside of the nose until saturday ;) And the rest of it looks brand new so with Luke May driving it I am hopeful of a good result and as for me in good old #48 I am hoping to maybe end up 3rd or 4th overall but anything can happen in motorsport
the blue kart had the 80 on it. was so much fun to drive rev to 15,000 its was un-breakable then you have the twin (under construction about 80% done) and the pink body work looks tops and the other photos are of my AX9 4s rotax that i bought brand new in 2007.
the rotax after it adjusted the attitude of my leg Arrow rotax 1 Human leg 0
Hi Jay, hope your healing well. So its a 4 stroke chassis, how do you find the further leftward seat position as per the AX9 shifter? Or is it a shifter, I cant tell what diameter mail rails from your pics?
The replacement part number is KSC17 for the steering upright set. I have a used 1 here if you want it for $25 plus postage. New they are around the $50+. Regards Scott
Scott i have had both chassies and personally i prefer the AX9 4s with the rotax motor. For 2 reasons:
the 4 stroke chassie is from what i found "softer" and easier to steer. With the striaght rear seat cross bar it seems to be heaps easier to set up and feels like it hooks up better on entry into turns. I had an AX8 Bmax with a rotax and took them to the track (both had rotaxs new MG yellows and the same age rotax engine) and went back to back for 10 laps each all day to get a true comparison. And found that we i came back from driving the 4s that i wasnt as tired and out of breath as what i was when i came back from the run in the Bmax. I gave it to a mate of mu=ine to drive at the last round at oran park in 09. he was a sponsored driver for omega and reckons the 4s was so easy to steer and turn in.
And secondly the 4s was my first brand new chassie i ever bought and i have 2 2nd NSW titles and 2 2nd Aus 4 stroke titles so it was some centermental value as well.
If someone asked for my advice on buying a chassie i would allow them to take my 4s for a run and let them make their own decision. I think the 4s is a better handly chassie and looks after tires better and feels better to steer.
Cheers jay If you want to chat more pm me and ill send you my number theres heaps more info that i have that im happy to share
There was another chassis very similar to the Arrow AX9 4 stroke which was the AX8 Amax which didn't have the large seat offset.
I'm convinced that low lap time in a sprint kart chassis is about effective turning in yes but more importantly, putting power down without killing the engine off corners. Due to the different torque multiplcation of the Rotax MAX in superkarting vs sprint, the chassis type/selection needs to be from a less power range of chassis. (hence your preference of the 4 stroke which was designed to be fitted with 10-15 HP engines in sprint).
So on other words what is the bollocks from sprint racing in clubman will probably be better off tight corners than say a Rotax/TAG or CIK chassis.
So there you go perhaps you have uncovered something there mate.

Re: Pics of your kart(s)
He does all exclusive custom work for many karters in Aus and the US.
Off the top of my head its $220 for one off design fee then $200 per full sticker set.
He does a great job and the decals are very high quality.
