I think the question has to be asked is the karter getting track time for investment put in.
I think not.
Lets take the upcoming Country Series Round 6 at Warrambool on 19 & 20 September, the Country series was promoted as a one day series yet for some reason this meeting has been made a 2 day meet .
So racing this weekend will consist of 2 x 8 laps & 1 x 10 lap final over 2 days
The track is 720 metres long , so one lap for Clubman heavy will take 35 seconds !
This eqates to a grand total of 15 minutes of racing for 2 days
I think the karter wants laps not waiting around !

Is that for real??
I am heading down to Canberra with the NKA Superseries 2 weekends from now - We will have Practice (12kms) Qualifying (7kms) 3 heats (12kms each) and a final (15kms). First session starts at 9, presentations at 5. The compromise is that many classes run lights and heavies combined in the sessions but we keep the light and heavy points seperate if that makes sense.
Combining the classes is not ideal (to me) but does add another element to the race as a heavy because if you qualify badly there will generally be a bunch of slower light guys in front and it becomes super important to clear them quickly and get on with racing the other fellas in your class.
12kms should be 16 laps i'd say. I know I'd rather put up with the combined classes to get something like 90 laps in on the day.
every last round of country series has been a 2 day meeting. but it wood be nice if there was more heats etc.
Good luck at Canberra.
I will not go back. Two years in a row, they promise the world and deliver half. We had a final of the ACT Titles go from 12 or 14 laps to 6. It was over in 3 minutes....!!!!
I think that might have been with the CKRC, this'll be the first time down there for NKA. Looking forward to a good weekend :) Hopefully don't get my arse handed to me too badly lol

As Corey stated. The last round of the country series has been a two day event since its inception by the 6 clubs that run and organise it.
This was done to allow a reasonable amount of pratice yet still finish the racing early enough on the sunday to allow for the presentation of the round trophies and then the presentation of the series trophies.
This allows all this to happen and still allows those that have to travel to get home at a reasonable hour. Some of us do think about those that have to travel
Cost for entry is only $55 still, so cost has not increased for racing. We encourage camping at all of the tracks and they all have exellent camping facitilites at the tracks. Warrnambools are at the gun club, power, toilets, showers etc about 100metres from the track.for those that want to save money We have had no complaints from competetors prior to this.
I know of one day meetings costing $100 bucks for entry for the same amount of laps............Is that value????????
The age old question that keeps apperaing ;-)
want more laps REDUCE CLASSES that you run, look at Protour EVERYONE happy WHY becuse they ran only six classes over 2 days. HEAPS of track time.
Bu we all know cutting classes or combining, is not easy as no one wants their class cut or combined.
something ALL clubs have to consider when planning meetings.

yer, that was very frustrating.... And I only live 10mins away!
But to be fair - there was two stoppages during the day because of "big ones", so had everything gone smoothly - I reckon we would've run through the whole program..
But in answer to the initial question - No, I'm definately not getting enough track time for the time, effort & $$ I'm putting into it - And I'm not putting in even half as much as most.
If you look at other forms of motorsport such as Speedway or circuit racing they don't run every class in existance at each event. The competitor goes to the events that are running his or her class. The major expences for the competitor in karting are travel, accommodation, time off work, food etc so more racing laps definently makes it a more worth while event. The clubs will say that they need the numbers to make it worth while but i am sure the karter would cope with a slightly higher entry if they knew that they would get a decent amount of laps. There are plenty of tracks and multiple events on most weekends so everybody would get a fair go.

That is why - despite being a dyed in the wool 2-stroke guy - I bought a 4-stroke and went to Lakeside to race with Damian..
Even 10 years ago when I stopped racing AKA my race day was too long for too little track time.
If the AKA wishes to maintain all the classes then the clubs may have to rotate the classes raced at each meeting or take turns combining classes so that everyone can race - some meetings in their own class some meetings combined with another class or two.
3hrs running in one meet?!??!
Jeeesus, I don't even get half that on a practice day!

come and do our enduro 3 hours 45 of RACING!!! 140 laps [ 2 x 70 laps stints] EACH driver.
Track time is proportional to the number of classes run.
rub it in man... rub it in.
