we wanted to do the series as Junior National. Just can't afford the travel. Thats not what's wrong with the series, just whats wrong with us. We have to pick and choose events.
At the moment the CIK series is competing with Vic state titles and Jmax. We are going to have a bash at the Vic state titles. If CIK offered something for junior national series winner we would have dumped vic open and travelled to Boliver instead.
The other influence is that we also have a cadet in the family. Cik, rotax etc exclude them. vic open and the whole family can play.
Its all about what is more attractive and fits the budget.
Cheers
David Arnold asked in another post " does the entry fee play a part when choosing what race meetings to do"?
I think this give him the answer.
I totally understand that Damon. But surely there's more than 2 Junior National drivers from SA!
Is the entry fee really what is stopping them?
But is it the entry Price or Value for Money of the whole weekend that is the real issue??
I realy think something like CIK is leaving things very late to lock in what is on offer. Without being critical, shouldnt have this been done by the last round last year so that people could then be planing for the next year, knowing where they were heading and what they would be getting?David Freer said:

Well the value for money would be better at CIK. Less days off work (& school), more track time and cheaper entry.
Hi all (Dave Chitty here!)
we competed in the full series of Junior National  - it was fantastic and we had a great time! best value weekend and highly recommend it. However, whilst we are not competing in Rnd 1 due to my work commitments on the Friday (I am not travelling to Adelaide for half a weekend). I have a couple of small points which I would like to mention:
1. The series is CIK and should be run fully to the CIK rules for those applicable KF/KZ classes - the reason I say this is that for KF3, the age limit in Europe (ie the CIK rules) is the year of child's 13th birthday. I lobbied for Australia to adopt this rule with certain extra endorsement/experience requirements - but no not adopted! In Australia, the driver still has to be 13 years of age which for us - we turn 13 in July so our season is effectively disjointed.
2. Small point -  the organisers should encourage the juniors a little more  - we supported every round last year and finished 5th overall in the championship (AKA rules, for Juniors being the support classes, prizes go down to 5th spot - we were told but CIK is down to 3rd spot) Tom received nothing - not even a group photo! However, full marks to the Bolivar kart club for the CIK rnd 2 medallion of thanks for making the trip they sent to Tom!!!
Once again, the series is fantastic and would recommend it, but message to the organisers - support the little kids who make the effort to support you.

For the support classes like Junior National, it should be a good selling point. Mal Crosher said:
Value for money is less of arguement for CiK level IMO. Not to be compared as it is supposed to be the elite level.
