The 2011 NSW Closed State Championship will be held on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July, at the Griffith Kart Club.
This race meeting will incorporate the very best of NSW Karters, racing over 3 days to determine who is the 2011 Closed State Champion for NSW. The winners in each class will also be presented with the prestigious Black Number Plate, as well as free entry to the NSW Open State Titles.
You must ensure that you qualify for the NSW Closed State Championships by gaining enough points in the NSW State Cup Series. So make sure you get along to your local rounds and qualify.
For any more information regarding the NSW Closed State Championships, please visit the NEW Griffith Kart Club website - www.griffithkarts.com.au - Details will be constantly updated on this website as they become available.
The Griffith Kart Club would also like to invite all karters to our annual [yellowtail] Cup Kart Race, which will be held on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May 2011. There is $14,000 Cash Prizes on offer, which is $1000 per class for each and every class. This will also be a good opportunity for karters to come and experience the track before the Closed State Championships.
So come along and experience some great racing at the Griffith Kart Club in 2011.

Saturday 30th April/ 1st May? Yellow Tail that is?
Sorry, that was a typo. Thanks Ryan
Yellowtail Cup is Saturday 30th April - Sunday 1st May
both ineligible for state title plates??? for state titles anyway yellow tale ????
Thats correct...Midgets and TAG Restricted are both non-championship classes in NSW, so will not be racing at the Closed State Championships.
However, these classes will be running at the Yellowtail Cup.
Why dont AKA NSW offer any over 4o even most other States offer J or Clubman
Great idea that the only state in Australia that midgets cant run an open or closed state title , supose thats why we are called the first state . GRRRRRRRRRAdam Smith said:

Adam, it was done to address the bad parent syndrome, too much pressure on these kids, Midgets supposed to be the learning class, get the basics, learn the craft ready for the next level. I have to agree on the bad parent syndrome I know it happens in the higher classes but really 7 year olds being pressured to win a Blue plate is a bit much.
So a rule change for Sportsman 125 aye? Premier Sportsman 125 for A Grade and International Drivers congealed in with the B Grade Sportsman 125 Drivers. 1st place only rewarded for Premier Sportsman and 1, 2 & 3rd for Sportsman.
I am of two minds about this.
1. I think it is fantastic that there is a chance of high profile drivers entering this event. I for one will be glad to be chasing hard all meeting. It has the chance to be an excellent show and great inspiration for the B Graders.
2. Having an A prov Licence means I didn't need to qualify for this event, but i have been doing the rounds to show support for the category and the series. Now they will be putting me in (essentially) another class. Did i waste my time supporting the class? Even though it is only a trivial thing, what about the Black Plate? I am now not elligable for this. Being a regular runner in Sportsman and close to the front, should I not have the right to fight for a Black Plate?
Anyway, I am sure it has been well thought out by the organisers / NSWAKA and everyone will be happy with this decision.
I really hope this does attract Premier Drivers to this event!
Sorry i think TAG R should be there.
how many A grade drivers are there compared to C grade
you would have full grid of TAG R Light and Heavy .
AS per the AKA don't understand the average karter, its all about the elite.
I cannot believe midgets are not included in Open or closed titles in NSW. I agree with Paul 7 year olds probably not, but there is a huge difference between a kid at 7/8 and one thats 10/11 and has been racing for 4 years.
Some of these midgets could show seniors around the track. Racing at these large meetings only helps them learn race craft and will benefit them later.
The Midgets Racing the Yellow Tail Cup will be just as competitive at those events as they would be at a open or closed title event.
With 33 Midgets entered so Far for Qld States 2011 it shows there are alot of NSW kids wanting the chance to compete at that level. Parents should know whether there child is ready to compete not only at state championship level but even club level.
I witnessed kids that arent even ready to race at club level and require alot more practice, But we dont stop them. So we shouldnt stop the ones who are ready to race at State Tiltles.
As you have said Paul the bad parent sydrome is in any class where the driver has a parent. Ive seen 30 year old drivers parents still arguing the cause.
Seriously guys, midget and tag-r discussions aside - get to this meet if u can! A number of us made the trip from Canberra for the yellowtail earlier this year. We were met with a great and challenging track, pleasant club members and the meeting was extremely well run. I can't speak more highly of Griffith.
Wondering how the Club or aka was organising the entry fee discounts for the S.C. place getters?
Just getting a good idea before entering on the weekend
