With only 3 days to go before nominations close for 2 positions on the board of KA members received notification of the AGM. To be held on MONDAY the 30 May 2016 at a venue to TBA????? What if you wanted to just be an observer at that meeting?
Will there be a phone hook up with 'just a couple of voting issues'? Who would know as has anyone seen an agenda yet? Have the States advise any of its members? The process of informing them wasn't carried out under the A1 process.
How does anyone submit a nomination form for either of the two positions up for election given the short space of time to do so? We desperately need people at the top who know and understand the world of karting. People who have an understanding of the mechanisms that make the thing work, and work properly.
CLG has been a complete and utter failure with more cloak and dagger than a Boris Battenov cartoon.
All I see and hear are the majority of karters whingeing and bitching about how bad things are, yet when it comes to the crunch, they may as well be standing naked in the artic. The karting fraternity needs to stand up for itself.

I spoke to my club VP yesterday and he knows nothing about this.He was as shocked as i was considering they have 300 odd members.
I would have to ask - What would be the point of nominating?
Look at last year, one nomination was vetted, and deemed not to have appropriate experience, skills or whatever, so was not even put forward for consideration. I would expect that situation would most likely apply this time round too.
Might as well just avoid the potential for a hopeful to be embarrassed by rejection!

Yep, the HR firm doing the vetting is a mate of one off the SA members on the board.Good luck getting thru that forceshield.Lotto pays better odds. Terry Sheedy said:

To their credit, AKAQ sent the AGM notice to their members (clubs) on about 30 March.
And Terry, you could imagine that if McCleverty or van Doorn nominated for the competition director, (as that and the finance director are on election rotation this year) as their backgrounds well and truly exceed the vetting standards, they wouldn't shy away if they were vetted out.
So should a person that has been charged with assault, been involved in large scale business loans that ended in court, or a person who allowed his house to be used as a refuge to harbor two dogs that entered the country illegally be vetted out? Terry Sheedy said:

VanDoorn shy away. There is a laugh.I dont think his car even has a reverse gear.
Hi Graeme - I do find it hard to believe that AKAQ sent this to the clubs on or about 30 March and nothing at all leaked???? Why wasn't it listed in a correspondence list? The news was a shock for many people late last week. I actually raised at a NSW club committee meeting a few weeks back and there was no mention of any up and coming AGM from them - so they were either telling porkies or genuinely didn't know anything about it.

Why would it leak, no one cares; that tells us a lot.
Despite my 'lecturing' why, AKAQ dropped correspondence from the minutes a few years ago. I struggle with the legality of not tabling and accepting correspondence because a meeting minute is the only record of send and receive. Even its not a legal requirement to table correspondence, it is just a simple best management process that I would demand if I were a councillor.
I imagine Neville will be asking for answers as he says his club wasn't provided the correspondence.
So now suddenly we have a notice of the AGM? Listed are the 2 Directors standing for -re-election.
WHICH STATES NOMINATED AND SECONDED THEM?
So the whisper I have heard is:
The two brown nose states that have ignored all the unrest is SA and Vic.
I wonder how many of the clubs endorsed their commissioner to nominate these two.
Come on SA - ask the Question
Did you Southern ?
What about Monarto and Whyalla ?
Hey Barossa how are you guys travelling did you vote Doohan back in ????
I hear Mt Gambier is down to one official because all their members have gone off to race interstate.
Yep everything is fine and dandy over here in SA - so we re-nominated Mick Doohan for the excellent job he is doing.
Thanks Victoria for seconding the dumbination
We can all look forward to the exciting growth period ahead.

Might have to leave this state -there is nothing alive down here !!!!
Please explain how they can legally vote?
1. As I understand the Executive Commission is not created under the constitution, it is an invention of KA. The individuals were sent the meeting notice to, are not the State Offices. 2. Did only 2 States nominated the Directors????
No agenda or minutes on SA website
Victoria doesn't show their SKC minutes or agendas
You wouldn't expect transparency in karting would you???? I mean really???
I mean if there was transparency, everything would need to be above board and justified and I think that is a little to much to ask (like way, way, way to much to ask) of a professional organisation, state or national. Di Smith said:
