was going to run it off generator, but just thought i would put it out there, to see if any one has one running.
Don't know why this item is in 'The Pub' . Should be in  the 'Karting' section where you may get a better response.
I have a 12v compressor with. A 9 l storage tank seperate to save on room etc. it's a great idea, as is this compressor
A compressor running off a generator/inverter is usually not a good idea. The issue is start up load (motor trying to start  pumping against a tank of pressure) being higher than what the generator can supply, leads to short term overloads and cut outs. If it happens once or twice  it is not much of an issue, long term it is not good for the circuit breaker , and the generator/inverter, to be overloaded often.Â
For karting use, the storage tank/12v compressor route works well. We dont use a motor compressor at all now, a foot pump does the adjustments easily, and anything more is handled by the track's air supply pipe (Picton supplies an multi outlet air standpipe and even one air hose with tyre valve nozzle.)
Yes after a longer look into the idea i visited a 4WD shop and have a 12v system with tank and will do the job im after.
I use an old LPG cylinder with LP and Nitto fittings cobbled together. I fill it to about 120psi on the home compressor. I'd go higher but my little home compressor is convinced it can't do it.
The 4kg bottle does me for the day filling four tyres from flat as well as adjustments through the day. After a few Christmas BBQs I've emptied a 9kg cylinder now so it should be good for two karts as well as blow drying my hair at the end of a long day.
We have had one of these, ideal for karting, especially tyres, not so good at cleaning kart
