Apparently, the NKC have passed a motion to bail out a clutch manufacturer to the tune of $270,000 of karters' money.
The big question is, at what stage were karters consulted? AKAQ have apparently axed their delegate for his involvement...
What the hell is going on??

Please tell me this is a wind up......a late April Fool joke or something........
Lets name and shame.....more details please......
No details at this stage... it was apparently discussed/decided upon during a meeting about finances, presumably how they got around having to disclose anything.
One can only hope someone got their wires seriously crossed, but if not.........
which manufacturer?
Dont know yet.
If "we" have $270K floating around - why don't we have better jnr development - maybe the Aus Chassis Manufacturers could apply for a "development" loan?? Or maybe we could help sponsor guys like Steele G and other young racers to go overseas and show their mettle??
This is chronic mismanagment of funds - it's not that far away from embezzlement!!??
Cheers

quoted from elsewhere...
'The loan in question, has very dubious real guarantees of securities. If as suspected, the banks are playing the heavies, and things went belly up, AKA would probably be in the queue of unsecured creditors. And if as commonly believed, all for $1350 interest per year on a $270,000 loan.'

just have to say this absolutely reeks of corruption. can we find out who the clutch manufacturer is?
good to see aka qld have taken the right action following the nkc meeting. all of the other states should do the same. does anyone know if the ICAC or anyone will be investigating this? they should be by the sounds of it.....
every aka licence holder should contact their club and/or state office asking for a 'please explain'
Just thought people might get a laugh out of this. Taken from the AKA website...
The purposes of the AKA are:
- To promote and protect the sport of kart racing;
- To promote excellence and just and honourable practices in the sport and to suppress malpractices;
- To promote and organise kart meetings and other functions for members;
- To do all such acts which, in the opinion of the Association are for the general benefit of members or of karting.
Isn't it good to see that the members of the NKC are following the AKAs guidelines....
someone must know more info on this
and for the clubman guys - makes it look certain the clutches are coming in - why would they bail out if there was no further future business to come from it?
time to name and shame i think.......
