This coming weekend is Round 1 of the MSA British Superkart championship and we'll be running on the full GP circuit. First for superkarts on this Silverstone layout. Last time a GP layout was ran at Silverstone was 2009 for the CIK-FIA championships on the old GP layout.
Due to being part of the Britcar 24hr meeting, support races are run on Friday and Saturday morning with the Britcar 24hr starting at 4pm on Saturday afternoon.

Sadly don't know who or how many people are entered. The last email we got over a week ago said entries will filling up with 40 people of a 50 maximum grid. Out of the 40 it was 5x Div1, 25x 250 Nat and 10x 450 so very good grid size if all are still competing.

Race 2
Drama at the start when Paul Platt pulled off when the spark plug failed. Gavin Bennett was in amongst the twins for the opening laps but dropped back a bit after making a mistake on set up.. "We'd changed the airbox and the gearing expecting wet weather." The DEA started to richen up and Dan Clark momentarily closed in but at the flag Bennett had a cushion of nearly 12s. A change of carburettor by Clark saw his Gas Gas motor perform better. "I chased Gavin in the early stages but backed off to conserve my tyres." The scrap the third place in the singles was in doubt throughout the race. Louis Wall had been holding the spot but when his Honda lost all of its water he wisely pulled off before damage was done. That left Gareth James, Andy Bird and James Hassall to fight it out with Bird getting the verdict by 0.190s at the flag. Bird was 'over the moon' with his result while James was satisfied with another solid finish on his new DEA. (GJ)

Unfortunately, the site will not allow me to upload a photo of Gavin Bennett's kart but you can see it on his Facebook page if you are interested.

Yes, I got the same message for a few days now. I just thought you would get around to deleting some old postings sooner or later Ant.
