Last time AKA Nsw ended up in a court case, it cost the AKA (IE Everyone in Australia) a lot of money. I notice that AKA (National - not NSW) is listed as one of the alleged offenders......here we go again.....
I only ask, why would Qld, SA etc contribute to other blunders.
AKA NSW and the clubs are the only entities at which the legal action is directed. Read it carefully - as is common in legal documents the first use of the title "Australian Karting Association (NSW) Inc" has the term (AKA) after it. This simply means that for ease of reading, all future references to the NSW entity will be shortened simply to "AKA". This does not mean the national AKA is implicated.
Cheers
For us of whom don't like reading, can someone give me a 2 sentence summary on what is going on?
Best you read the documnet - then you have the full story without the add on's
And Jim is correct but the same clowns in NSW head up the National lot ... !~

Having been a more than casual reader of Ralphs website for sometime, he should be the leader of the Democrats.... They would be proud to see others are attempting to Keep the Bastards Honest!!!
I think it's time for the AKA to have the heat turned up even more.
Jim,
You may be correct, but last time AKA Nsw ended up in a legal battle, the AKA bailed them out, and it cost AKA (all karters of Oz, not just NSW) a hell of a lot of money. In saying that, AKA Qld had a club sued by a member, and fought it and won. AKA Q paid the legal expense, and when we asked the AKA to assist, on the grounds that we had set a precedent that would protect all clubs of Oz, they told us to bugger off. If it had been NSW, I am sure the decision would have been different.
Agree, but it is important to the rest of the states that it IS just NSW and clubs - this means that any enforceable undertaking that the ACCC may issue as a result of this action cannot directly affect non-NSW clubs. These undertakings can be a serious impact on organisations and I am sure the rest of the state bodies and clubs would be dirty if one was imposed on them because of the actions in NSW.
Financial management between the national body and state bodies always seems to be an issue, but one that has to be sorted out internally.
I have a hunch that this matter was discussed at National level at one of their NKC meetings ( I will have to search for it) ..and if in fact this was discussed and not addressed by the National lot ( which are the same clowns ) it may will impact on ALL the States and ALL the affiliated clubs as a result ...we may all have to suffer the costs that WILL be incurred in court created by AKA NSW just like we all had to for the Indoor Karts fiasco - The Hawkesbury Fiasco and the Loans to NSW in the past ......But it's OK ..karters love having their elected officials do this sort of crud stuff - how can you tell ???? it's simple ...they are still in office !!!!
I am fairly confident this would have to do with Freezing out Pro Kart and endurance racing. last year rumors circulated and it was said Erdman and his buddies made demands of the clubs to charge excessive fees to Pro kart , If this was adhered to there would be no licensing issues in the future for each AKA tack. There concern was that the Pro kart movement was gaining momentum and may effect licences renewals for the AKA.
The AKA are in Clear breech of current competition price fixing , The case is so strong that its the ACCC suing not pro kart them selves.....
Silly . Silly Silly.
I have raced in the pro kart series on a number of occasions and if you want a good value competitive race weekend with no stress from officials , Its a really good weekend, I can see how the AKA may have felt threatened..
Pro Kart race at Qld clubs without these issues. We would be better off trying to bring them under our banner, like Speedway karting, than shutting out different kart groups. But Nicholas, you are correct, that is what it is over. The AKA NSW set a minimum hire fee to be applied to pro kart by all clubs - $5 or $6000 from memory., making it unfeasible.
You ask >>>can they be ask to stand down immediately?......who within the AKA has the power to perform this task
Decency would demand that you apply this stand down to yourself ... their own code of conduct would apply surely ???
I can live with the fact that it is 'alleged" that they did this ..!! .however when the minutes of the Association on their own Assoociation website state they imposed such a "price fix" and the threats to officials if they assisted another organisation are as plain as the nose on your face ...then how would you have the gall to carry on as if they did nothing wrong..??? . ACCC does not take action unless they know they can win ...but these AKA people invent their own rules to suit themselves - don't think its just those named either - it involves the rest of the NSW lot not named, clubs as well as they all had a hand in it - they did not reject ....and get this ..The Wagga kart club moved the motion ...a club that that is in arrears with finances payable to the TDF fund to the AKA since 1996 .....Cher, bless her heart sang about .... Gypsies - Tramps and Thieves .. its the the new AKA NSW theme song ... listen here .. .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOSZwEwl_1Q
This has been brewing for a while. This started when AKA demanded non-aka organisers to pay upto $6k for track hire in metro syd.
