I am assuming by the silence that no one knows what is going on. I hope they hurry up as my little girl will be ready to go in 18 months time. If they dont hurry up and get it sorted she will be into Cadets or involved in some other sport.
This is the point our club meeting was adamant about!
We are loosing opportunities to start em young.
We figure the parents will also be involved, both mums and dads.
More people, more community, more help to do things.
More happy people telling their friends..
More interest in the activity..
Critical mass helps build the sport!
We are loosing young family's to other sports like pewee motor bikes.
And I think karting is safer, for one thing.
I haven't heard about this, has there been talk about having a younger class before cadets? Â It'd be good if that were the case that there were controlled components & things so the costs were super low. Excellent opportunity to roll that out starting a new class
5 years and up.
Kids Karting will not involve any form of competition. It will be a learning and development class run separately.
Neville,
I'm sure you approve,though. />
Don't you?
By reports of the NSWKA meeting...
The clubs were badgering the powers that be to get off their collective A##es and Make it Happen!
Carl our club instigated it!!!! I know when it started how it started and how it was hijacked. Catch up Carl. Carl White said:

LOL.
Glad to hear you Are for this,
Best to focus on the detractors and push forward to a good outcome,
Don't you think?
Just HMO.
sounding a bit like governance? started over ten years ago and got well and truely hijacked. Good ideas usually do, my guess like the "new engine" the new board will have to take control and seeing its really only just starting I suspect it could be at least 12 months away. This idea whilst great has to keep in with each state regulations ie NSW has DSR which has rules etc not sure other states have etc so we have to jump though hoops that are outside the sport regulations as well.
As I said at the SKC meeting on Saturday, we need to push our sport through the schools via both V8 Supercar drivers attending and speaking with the kids and the 'Kids in Karting' programme.  Not just static displays, but the opportunity of driving a limited HP kart. Trade shows and fairs are another example of how the KIK programme could be beneficial. For instance the Top Gear festival. with a temporary circuit set up and allow kids to have a drive of a kart. There are numerous opportunities to showcase our sport when done correctly. V8 supercar events, Muscle Car shows, and other motor sports events. Dispalys etc are a must for this sport to survive, should be the role of the "marketing" committee of the new board as well as the other levels, displays, track time at events, etc should be the realm of the new board, but consider v8s are the ebst opportunity to showcase the sport BUT the MOST expensive part they wont do anything for free,

Years ago I got excited at the news Karts wer going be included in the v8 BATHURST on track invovement, went and watched only to be disappointed at what eventuated not a good display at all and felt it still pedalled the line of backyard billy karts. Whatever sow is put on must be releavnt to the sport as more harm can be done than good. [ Like this bathurst event].

kick the new board into gear.
