is it a crappy rumor going around or is it true that you will only be allowed to have your tents in the pits with your karts and the trailers parked elsewhere? ,i hope some1 is telling porky pies on this one
Most likely correct. Was like this at the Nationals last time around. I suspect it will be no different.

at the first attempt at the vic open this year it wasnt so.
Basically they said "you get 3x3mtrs per entry and you can do what you want with that" which i rekon is a very good way of doing it... let people choose how they set their stuff up, some people need their trailers... others dont care.
to be fair though, unless you combine at LEAST two entries worth (to get 6x3, and really more like 9x3), it's not physically possible to fit a trailer and a kart in a 3x3 metre area. but if the "single entry" guys are told they can't have their trailer because it's not fitting, and they see trailers in the pits of guys who have combined a group of entries to make a trailer fit, you end up with inevitable arguments and disagreements.
given that organising the pits is done entirely by volunteers who don't deserve to get yelled at, a blanket "no trailers" rule is an easier way for them to avoid being the "bad guy".
i think clubs could afford to be a lot more flexible about this kind of stuff, if RACERS were more understanding of the volunteers trying to HELP them (i'm never jealous of big john skinner, who has to try to organise people in the difficult todd road pit area, and cops an earful EVERY time!).
I know of some people that are coming that don't own tents. So are they expected to unload all of their stuff into the 3 x 3 and park their trailer somewhere else??
I'm goin to give Rossco a mouthful just for the fun of it !!!!!!!!!!!!
420 karts spaces at 9m2 = 3780m2
Roads and walkways Guess @ 4000m2
Approx 2 acres required
Guessing that trailers trucks etc would take up equal this amount + I doubt any pits in australia could accomadate this.
To me its obvious that trailers will not Fit
But im stilll going to give Rossco a mouthful
i think it sucks, but if the space in not available...then what else can they do. Also as long as it applies to everyone, and i mean everyone!
