Time for action on a new track in Sydney, old greedy at Eastern Creek has just put the practice prices up to $65 for non NSKC Members and $54 for Members. This bloke now has AKA 2 stroke karters by the short and curlies, maybe it's time the ACCC or Department of fair trading was called in as old greedy now has a monopoly on 2 stroke practice in the Sydney area.
Let's hope after the Election the New Government has a more receptive ear towards karters.

ACCC couldnt do much. EC arent the ones that created the monopoly, the government did that. ACCC cant tell you what you can charge.
move to mildura , you can practice all day & night (24/7) just have to be a member and we could do with some more . And it's a great place to live.
+1 to that brilliant track and nice people too. I bring my kart whenever I can when I go down to see the family.Robert Chamberlain said:move to mildura , you can practice all day & night (24/7) just have to be a member and we could do with some more . And it's a great place to live.
Wasn't SKRC or AKANSW committee working on a new track plan some time ago? there was talk of lands somewhere, government assitance etc etc been quiet of late so nothing much eventuated.
But it will be big dollars and where will that money come from? do you want a new track too close to Newcastle, or the gong or to EC effecting those clubs?
Ah yes, good old Frankie.
But there's a change of Government just around the corner, all of these supposed contracts were done under a Labour Government.
From what has been said through the grapevine (about this so called no other track agreement) the agreement included a clause that guaranteed 2 stroke access, not only to AKA Members either. This has never been the case at EC.
Maybe a few letters and emails from disgruntled karters to the incoming Minister may not fall on deaf ears, and if such a contract does exist, it may well be looked into. Governments have been known to tear up contracts in the past that were put in place by previous Governments.
We can only HOPE!!!
No one can build a track…
No one can build a track within 30km? Surely that breaches anti-competition laws? And $65 for practice?!?!?!? I remember at Ipswich when it was $10...
lithgow is only about 1 to 1 1/2 hrs from most of Sydney and practices is only $20 to $30 dollars from memory .. and all of the money that is collected from this goes back into the club and improving your track.. only have to split between rookies ,juniors and seniors for all day practice.. you can practice mid week if you ring ahead..
I know it's not in Sydney but if this proposal gets up it might give you all another option.
About the same travelling time as Lithgow or Newcastle depending where you live.

Its another case that the other eastern states kick our butts with more tracks in the local city areas. I signed a petetition a little while ago for another track in the Sydney area. Its pretty poor that more people live in the 02 sydney area code than any other state but we have 1 track that we can race at , our vic and qld buddys would be laughing at us .We live in the hills district 15 mins from EC but 1hr 40 to lithgow ( love racing there ) 1 hr 30 wollongong same to newcastle not good enough
The only way you will get a new kart track in Sydney basin is if every karter in Sydeny.
Rings or emails your local politician . both liberal and labor let them know YOU WANT MY VOTE I WANT A NEW TRACK.
Also make it clear to your committee member from your club , that the AKA NSW should be doing more to get this new track.
AKA needs to be also talking to the Government there not .
SKRC Max and Bob have been trying for a number of years.
But 2 people will not get there if we don't all help .
YOU MUST PUT PRESSURE ON ALL POLITICIAN.
as far as he has contract for Sydney is not true.
Well said Phil,
"Rings or emails your local politician" . Both liberal and labor let them know!
Do it now if you want to start some action.
Regards Dennis

Steve and Damian,
Phil and Dennis are right, Poly's will listen if the noise is loud enough, you all get the chance once every 4 years to let your poly know how you feel, it is as easy as posting on this site, as they all have web sites that will accept emails.
Dont miss the opportunity!!!!!
Max.
