just had a clutch break engine is 5months old/ 10 hours is the clutch covered under the 6 month warranty??? will take down to the shop 2morow anyway, but just thought id see if anyone here knew??
Not sure about the warranty, but have you got the new clutch or old one? I used to break the old ones all the time, especially the drum(cover or whatever it is). I have had zero problems with new one though so grab one of those if you replace it.
its the old one, i missed the new one by a week i think
Rotax only warrants major problems that can be proven to be a result of a manufacuting fault.
Hey Ran, oooch new clutch is $650 smackers now.... can only buy the new one now unless you can find one around still !!! as they are only $330-350 for memory..... so either save money today and most likely have to buy another in the future (fingers crossed) or shell the $650 today and cross your fingers that one doesn't crap it self.... by all reports they are alot stronger but who the hell knows............ Those little stones that are in traps at Todd road are the killers ....they love it when you are to lazy to push it back to the pits ........
Yeah I've bought a bit of stuff from them and actually checked out their store a few years back on my first trip to Vegas.... they have a nice setup and Chris there showed us around their local track with a 6 Speed beast absolutely insane. I think iy has changed owners now ..... you've just gotta pay the freight which can work out expensive sometimes.... (ie) up to $100- $120 extra..... with no insurance on the goods.... for $433 is that the conversion kit as well ?
Yeah.... DHL last time but the size/weight was a factor.... $430 Oz $'s just shows how much we are getting stitched from IKD or IKD are getting stitched from Rotax against our price of $650 !!!! thats an additional 51% !!!! I've found the states very cheap for race gear like suits, boots & gloves... but I waited till my last trip and bought up when I was there last...but our dollars was at .90+ then so even better savings now.... found that most parts were relative to us and in some cases like chassis & engines they were dearer than OZ...... anyway that's $200 saving on the clutch worth ordering I reckon.....

I got a quote from KartpartsUK - (they have a website) - 2 months ago for a brand new 09 rotax clutch - I think they quoted me $380 including postage (6 days from uk to here!) - the price was due to increase slightly in april but check them out mate - I am going back in September for a holiday and will be stocking up big time! DID chains for example are only $30!
Hi Steve, try using USPS United States Postal Service, you can track your item all the way to your front door. I've bought alot of stuff through acceleration karting and they have been great. I bought a 30 psi longacre tyre gauge once and I stuffed it up by checking wets with too high pressure. I rang them and they said just send it back and we'll replace it, they did. Normaly postage is around $50.00 US for each order. Don't go over $1000.00 AU otherwise you will have to pay import duty.
Hope this helps

Speaking of Rotax parts AND tyres, what on earth is with the recent price hikes?? Whilst I understand the current economic climate is tough overseas and we are yet to feel the full brunt here in Oz the price rises on parts and tyres to me seems rather exorbitant.
It seems as though IKD are taking us for a ride especially with the recent rise in the price of Mojos. Yeah it may only be $15 BUT Remo has managed to keep his tyre prices the same for in excess of 5 years. I know that the Aussie dollar took a little bit of a battering over the last couple of months but at the moment it is relatively strong so will IKD now drop the price back down?? - yeah right, wishful thinking.... I could understand the fluctuation in prices if only one box of tyres was being purchased but we are talking about bulk orders of 40 foot containers here. Dunlop are guilty of the same thing with the SL1.
