Ok, about to clean and check my clutch for first time, questions:
Do i need any special tools to do so?
what is the best thing to use to clean it?
what is the best greese to use on bearing?
anything else i need to know?
cheers

Ran, you need to clean and grease the rollerbearing at least after every clubday. Sometimes it gets noisy during clubday so sometimes we regrease it during clubday. My son found some high temperature marine grease and that works well. Be careful not to use too much or it will end up on your clutch shoes. If pressed for time,I squirt a bit of chain lube thru a hole, but not a good practice..
We roughen the surface of the shoes to prevent clutch slip..
You do not need any special tools..
There - you now owe me two beers after I bought you a beer after the last club day..
Hi Ran, as garry has said, use a high temperature grease for the roller bearing but not too much as it will flick out and cause the clutch to slip. Chain lube is ok but doesn't last very long and can cause the roller to get hot if it dries out. As for cleaning the clutch, use brake cleaner. Spray it on and clean with a clean rag and let it dry. Also use a rough emry paper to scuff the clutch drum to give the shoes a rough surface to grab onto.
Hope this helps...
