Mary !!!!!! very funny,
They need to make the $33k loss for CIK look abit better wonder if it will get same budget for 2011?

Seems the most popular response these days is " Go ask your club to get these supposedly public statements for all to see , but what ever you do do not discuss this on a public forum, especially if your initials are RVD " .
But who cares hey ? All we know is how many KF engines left we need to flog off .
It takes a lot of turkeys [karters] to keep about 100 elite eagles [cik] at the top $33.000 would have bought 110 transponders including free postage, or maybe $6.50 off the price of 5000 transponders

This is for Mal .....read if you wish.... my notes ...
All you guys need to do is ask for a copy of the June financials from your State office through your club..if you are game enough !!! beware tho if you do you could be branded a trouble maker ..!! . remember - the people who finance the AKA are the people who purchase a licence.....In the real world when you quiz you water bill they don’t cut the water supply off ...unlike in this sport – so don’t let fear stop you asking questions !!! !!
I too have a licence, and I have, through my club, obtained the financials, and after agitating to get them, and yes another loss for the AKA ($41,000) but why should anyone care,?? it's only your funds.. ...! two years in a row losses up around the $40K mark... However that’s not a bad thing if the funds are being spent improving the sport .!!! .what improvements are there ??? Sure, Governance accounted for talk fests and detail costing another $13,500 and what was the improvement ..zero – zilch – nothing !! Folks governance would ensure accountability …!!! Smart Card coming along real well - ??? spending $125,000 by March this year , probably well spent and needed to fix all the bugs and get it on song, in Qld we got the Health Pay software debacle still costing us …. but what gets me is the amount of reversal in the last month of the year on Smart Card software , like a reverse of *$89,000 for software expenses .. you have to wonder why in March 2010 the AKA had spent and shown as expenses 125K of Smartcard software expenses and then at the end of June that figure is reveresed by 89K ??? did some one get a refund ??? .... someone would know surely ..??? someone would have asked at the time the audit figures were presented - surely ?? Considering the accountancy and audit costs for this financial period were $22,000 !! ............. The treasurer talked up just short of $3000 on his AKA phone ..probably getting advice from the accountant .!!.........and poor Craig's gonna cop a flogging for his trip to Japan to watch a CIK race and talk to some people, that is shown that it cost $6,600 - to send him there for a weekend …must have been a great trip Craig . Macca and I went to Japan when we won a free trip we would have had a ball on 6K .!!! .
I suspect something is not quite right there Craig as you can fly to Japan and back for under 2K at best - and CIK having spent $68,000 and showing income of $34K and includes $18,000 for leasing of engines, that surely must be an expense recovery of the cost of the ($170K) engines and not as not income towards the series .???? otherwise you would expense the whole purchase of engines to CIK wouldn't you ....???,
Another interesting observation is that the AKA now sponsors a $20,000 handout for the National AKA Championships to the club hosting it ..!!!…why we would do something like that with our funds when the club already has entry fees income, and tyre sales, and shows a healthy income from it, I am informed it is to retain Naming rights….. ??? would it not make more sense to sell naming rights to a sponsor, and collect income from it, as opposed to the organisation who stages the event paying $20,000 to a club in order to retain the naming rights for the AKA themselves ???? …it just don’t make sense to me …and $20,000 handout to the host club for having less than 5% of attendance of the financial contributors …????
But a mere pleb asking questions or reading reports and making notes or comment does not sit well with the regime and will only get you into trouble – all above is contained in the figures …but don’t dare ask anything ....!!!!!...

Private Pete ... I said in my post ....>>>>>> I suspect something is not quite right there Craig as you can fly to Japan and back for under 2K at best
I reckon there has been a misplaced amount put in there as so often happens and we never know !!! ..and most of that 6K belongs elsewhere ... and in any case that amount should not be attributed to CIK costs anyway, , it is an AKA requirement to have a delegate to the CIK - any expense for that is an AKA expense ..NOT a CIK expense..!!....

me garee maybe these figures are padded out to make other areas not look so bad, but still on the red side of the ledger. other tricks are to hold off payment until the next financial year to make the previous look better and hope the next year absorbs the held over figure?

Paul ..thats doesn't happen does it ....????? ;)
Adam,
Me thinks this is one of the things they held over??????
"transponders???have they paid the final installment yet?"
The purchase of transponders has been contracted, so it will be an amount that is known to be owing at a particular time. It will be shown as a Current Liability.
Won't it . . .
does it?
