Hi Guys, I have spent hours on this site & others, as well as spending time at the track pitting for 250's & 125's but I still would like to try & clear a few questions I have & I'll try to be brief/to the point. I am leaning to the stock 125 class,(I know it is not a class yet but runs at the rear of the 125GB unless your Dalton), but would really like to have a drive before purchasing a Kart. Therefore;
1/ Is there a system in place that would allow a drive & what are the minimum requirements?ie: club membership,some form of cams licence without having a vehicle to do your OLT? I read somewhere that "Blacky was setting up a 125 for introducing the sport to mates, how does this work?
2/Let's say I have purchased a sprint Kart Chasis, where can I then source a "new ????" 1999 CR125 engine, I don't get that how can a 99 model be new. A web site would be great!
I think I'll just leave it at those 2 for now & say sorry in advance if these subjects have been covered & have been just too stupid to find the answers in my searches! ???
Cheers Stewart

Re: Questions for those in the Know re joining SK ranks!
In answer to question 1). There is a come'n'try session at the end of the day at most (all?) Adeladie webmaster races. Basically all you have to do is sign a piece of paper and off you go. Its usually a 15-20min session and if you are genuinely interested there are plenty of people who will let you have a drive.
As far as sourcing and engine goes, I'd speak to Sam Zavaglia, he will probably reply to this thread soon.

Maybe I should explain a little more. I live in QLD but do most of my pit time in NSW, except for the recent Shannons Nats, & usually share a garage with Sam & the Stocky boys who have taught me heaps, but don't like to bother Sam too much on race day & usually I just don't think of the questions till later. :-[
I guess my main question is what paperwork/licence is needed to be legal & covered for a lease/rental drive or a trial of a good friends machine? Pil offered me the drivers seat of his 250 to run it in for him but as it was at Fri Practice at the Creek before a cams event we were advised that was a no no.
I understand the process if you've got your own machine was just trying to clear up the try before buy process!
