Hi All
After the recent victorian open held at the famous 'Pucka' track, does anyone have any input on the violent bumps in the last 2 corners? it could just be me, but, it seemed every leopard, rotax and clubman class was having severe kart hopping on these last two corners some ( E.G myself) worst than others.. would anyone be in favour for the track to consider smoothing out that section before the Nationals next year? or is it something we will have to work around? would also be interested if people found solutions to the problem?

We know boothy's tricks now if he is going to take anyone out, he'll be off line and use the excuse "oh i'm south australian and the bumps I just couldn't handle :P "
:D Sorry boothy, I had to go there.
hahaha, ok fongy, you got me!!! yer, maybe it was just my lines through the two corners, i know when i was behind some of the other leopard heavy boys during racing they were hopping a fair bit also. on the wednesday, my second time on the track, i posted my fastest lap ( on old OLD tires) at a 44.78 with no hopping problems. as soon as rubber went down the next day, i struggled breaking out of the 45 bracket. it was really strange. ah well, nationals next year, atleats we know if we fast on wednesday, we really arent gonna be fast for the weekend.
Hey Boothy,
Pucka is renowned for being faster on old tyres in most classes. Has been for years.
Regarding the hopping issue, I would describe the horseshoe at Pucka as similar to the double-right at Todd Road... If your kart is fast, you'll be slightly "over-gripped" on that corner, and get a bit of the old superheavy wobbles through there. If you can get the kart to stay sitting flat and smooth through the horseshoe, without compromising speed elsewhere, you're REALLY on a winner :-)
yer defintaly Col, if you can get yous kart sitting flat!!! we chased setup all weekend to eliminate the hop. from softer, to harder axles with absolutely NO difference. i never knew pucka was faster on old tires. i might drive my kart back to the motel after racing to wear em out a bit:P that should do it.
i hope they leave pucka at least till after nationals, no other track has burms and ruts its unique i love it.
i agree with jordie I love how pucka is now.

I think it must just be ur kart setup or lines
pucka sholud be left alone, i think its one of the best tracks in australia and the rough surface and the bumps just add to the excitement, cant wait for the nationals next year!!
yeah, well its clear wat most karters think of the place, guess i have to find a way around it. i know my lines werent off though, all of us in leopard heavy were taking the corners the same, however it could be setup related...
hey..yea that bump is not the nicest...my hip was bleeding lol...but if u take the inside curb on the last turn its smooth as...or..get a kosmic...that will fix all ur problems lol.. ;)
