I had hoped the AKANSW had left old ways behind them when they went to their new management system, sadly nothing has changed.
Its been reported to me that this weekends AGM there are two candidates for a prominant position, where some clubs have been contacted by supporters of one candidate bagging out the other.
Really is this what AKANSW politics has come back to? These so called supporters should really step back here and pull their heads in, and I do hope the clubs have totally ignored these attempts to influence their vote.
Its another egsample of how the old way has infected the new way at least by some, meaning nothing has changed in reality if its effective?. These supporters should be "outed" and this candidate they support should distance himself from them, if he doesn't then the NSW clubs need to ask is what will this candidate then do if he gets in? will any future candidate be faced with the "faceless men"?

more info please if ya able paul
cheers ted
seems some clubs have been threatened with future difficulties if vote for the other guy? [ ie difficulty getting race dates approoved etc] this is sadly the standard threat to any club that kics up a stink, they suddenly have trouble getting race dates or over zealous track inspections, dragging the chain on admin etc.
sad really, it appears the culprit wasn't even nominated by his own club but another???? I think that club may have to re-think their support for their candidate? but thats my opinion only.
are we talking for the top position?
yes
Further investigation has seen deeper motives for the threats, as there usually is when it comes to AGMs. seems one of the nominees has enlisted members of three nominating clubs to do the ring arounds bagging the other nominee. I wonder WHY NSW needs to have a CEO???? and if this person gets the gig what does this episode tell us e maybe in for? will he be a puppet [ in theory he should be with the baord and skc telling him what to do] of a few?
But I suppose in election campaigns all sorts of things happen, just watch fed politics for the next 30 days.
Paul
I think you may have mixed up your candidates because I am the Secretary and SKC delegate for Manning Valley one of three Club’s that nominated one of the candidates for the CEO/Chairman’s position and I have not rung anybody threatening or pressuring them to vote one way or the other. Quite the contrary!
I suggest you may need to do some further investigation.
BBB
It appears I may done so but safe to say Brian Your club candidate is NOT the one but the victim of the bagging I suspect your club would not get any of these calls.
Apologies if I confused you with this, my apologies.
There are three well know "personalities" leading the charge against Brian's candidate.
seems the tactics may have worked????
good to see though the minutes come out so quick. but on a disappointing note why so many "verbal" reports given and NO minutes of what was reported???? were the reports not good news???
Also good to see Lismore's attempt to keep fees down some interesting figures presented by the club and a good arguement for regional clubs.
