The published minutes, as scant as they are, do not say the IKC was given money by the AKA for prizemoney; the minutes simply say the IKC presented it's budget and was allocated another $50,000.
Does anybody know then where the suggestion came from that prizemoney was part of this budget because I don't think that's right.

Adam,
I don’t think you would find GH is against prizemoney, only that it appears karters money is being used for it. If it is not karters money, that’s brilliant. If it is, there are obvious problems like why for this class and not others, but perhaps most importantly when karting numbers aren’t on the increase, if you’ve got a spare $40k, why not reduce licence fees because that might keep a few people on the edge from dropping out. Or, why not use the money for a marketing and promotion exercise to attract new karters.

Or put it towards the cost of transponders? Lets look after 10% of karters, and not worry about the other 90%. Does the budget prresented include any payments for the running of the event?
Good point Neville but at the risk of disappointing you, they are offering prize money, that they accumulated from overcharging for licence fees to less than 1% of karters, not 10%.
Ironically, I think I could be happy with karters money being offered as cash prizes for the elite class if there were 100 participants like there were in the peak years, but only after everything else required to nurture and grow the sport was accomodated.
Your transponders is one, and as RV said elsewhere, $270,000 would have been a good contribution to that instead of being lent to St.George.
I would also see a Marketing and Promotional Plan or Plans as a first priority and I would see money spent on that as a great investment in the sport. Next on the list of what money should be spent on, would be implementing that plan.
Graeme,
You have to be joking if they have a business plan then we could follow their discussion making process!
I have only been in the sport for 3 years however in that 3 years all I have seen is a lot of money wasting and the majority of people disappointed.
In NSW they should concentrating on the meaning of "ethical behaviour" period.
Regards Dennis

CIK is being supported to the detriment of PSC. And I believe, the PSC was funded by karters and businesses, not AKANSW. Many thanks to all who made the PSC possible.
