its good to see a few up there that have been working hard for their class win ,
Marshall in the j's
tyler
kel and ryan
Feel for Kenny again, leading the whole race for this to happen again.
Well done to Greenbury, this is just awesome.
Congratulations to Darcey, Tyler and Blake all good kids with the right attitude.
apparently stewart when over the line first in clubby light but had contact with sera on the last corner. so they swapped them having sera take the win
Well said Phill, Darcey and Blake are both really good kids as i'm sure are the rest of the juniors.
Well done boys, I'm looking forward to seeing you both when you get home for some more celebrations.
Just to update you James - the results you posted were provisional. Some are under appeal. Ben Stewart in CL was relegated to second and Dave Sera put to his rightful spot of First and National Champion. SNH was also under appeal last I heard as no results had been posted on Mylaps for the final and when we left the track.
A great day of racing and congratulations to the Townsville Kart Club for some great organisation. The Prawn Rolls were gereat, their Nationals Polo Shirts are fantastic, and the only downfall was the "Curse of the winner" - every time they tried to interview the winner of a class, the microphone would fail :)
Bit of biast these sharon? :P
If Sera crossed the line third behind Hughes and Stewart, and Stewart was relegated, shouldn't Hughes be the Clubman Light Champion?
I know they have the right to revise race positions, but this seems a little different as another third party was involved.
Whats everyones take on this?
Congratulations to all the Champions though (Go Wazza!).
That does look a tad strange Brett, and Adam would be a deserving winner in that case....
well i was in the tower at the time and wat i saw was that dave sera was leading the race into the final corner with ben stewart behid him. then contact was made which pushed dave out and the other two went thru to take the win.
so im thinking that the call was made on the grounds that if there was no contact then dave sera would have won, stewart 2nd and hughes third
does this sound right???

It does, and it's perfectly acceptable, but the thing that worries me is that Hughes was almost relegated for nothing. Went from second to third and not involved in anything.
I think you would have to be crazy to not think Sera deserved to win, or Stewart for that matter, but it seems to go against other rulings I have seen at other meetings where the end result would of been Hughes, Sera then Stewart.
It's one of them tough situations.

What's the bet this will take another 2 years to resolve like the last time they had the leopard debacle with dave....
