Mojo Tyres

I have received an email from Rotax via the Australian distributors regarding an enquiry I made on these tyres for SK. Put simply they will not recommend them for this use and will not supply any technical information either. They are in their words a short course tyre only and not tested at the speeds we reach.

I would say that these tyres are absolutely no good for long track racing as they are struggling on short tracks. A mate did a club day in sprint on the Mojo 2 tyres and they are completely destroyed after 1 practice session and 3 races. At the cost of them it will start to drive people away from sprint as they need a new set of tyres every race meeting to stay close and 2 sets a meeting to get up to the pointy end of the field.

I also read about the wear rate and that was one reason I started asking questions. I will bet money all those who are having big problems are not using the recommended scrub in procedure. There are just as many reports of them lasting 100's of laps with no problems, this seems very like the Red Vega issue that ran through sprint a few years ago, we like some had no problems, others just ripped them apart.
