If I have done my research properly... The AKA could not afford to function if they only had approx 2500 licence holders...??!!!! Therefore... if half of us had a year off... the AKA would be knackered cos there expenses outweigh there income... you do the figures.
I have only just discovered that even CAMS could not shut the AKA down as they are a separate body.
No one can actually shutdown the AKA... ACCC... Dept Fair Trading...Nobody...even Julia.
The only people that can stop the AKA cronys.... is us... we stop racing for a year... then they are broke and cant afford there expenses...wound up... screwed. Am I wrong or just pissed. Lets do it Boys ...it will only take one year.

Why would you want to do that???
If you are the man with all the idea's, start your own oranisation like prokart did...
Or are you just a bag of HOT AIR, like most of the anti AKA loud mouths..The AKA is NOT perfect, but it is all we have.
I agree, what about the clubs, they still have expences. what would they do for a year. If you are going to give the AKA the boot then there needs to be something else to replace it. If you want someone gone from a position, then you need to offer a better altrnitive. This the very simple solution to a very simple problem.
Hi Pete,
Very tempting but not workable really as the clubs will hurt first
Their only option would be to join Prokart and get involved there somehow at least it will keep the money flowing???
Me thinks numbers are falling and at least stagnant which will cost the AKA money as costs are always going up. The AKA have LOST money in 2 consecutive years and ban on target for a third in a row. so we may not need to take that action as they are doing it by themselves.
I think this threat is a major reason why BAM was booted and downtraded, [ no offence intended] from a organisation to an individual to cut the costs, CMS is sucking money out of the bank account 5 figures per month with NO end in sight. And no real effort to cut costs other than booting BAM. Its worrying that there are moves to shut the books to us, as we risk one day waking up with the gates closed to us or a huge jump in race licences and fees.
Numbers ARE NOT increasing, stagnant, which isn't good, so there is no need for a strike of this type as the effects are being felt already and these wrong ppl at the top wouldn't leave anyway as you may hope.
If karters were willing to do this they would be better served by all going to the meetings just prior to the Nat AGM and making sure they RIGHT person[s] get the jobs.
The GFC has made everyone more accutely aware that debt is not good and jobs are NOT for life, so have to be more frugil about their spending and are saving more spending less, just look at retail sales figures of late. No sport is immune from it, and our sport which is a high costs sport has a LOT of its membership in the "club" level bracket this bracket is the FIRST to stop racing or reduce its racing and we are seeing signs of this already.
I would love to see more ppl active at club level.
As hilarious as it is, I think we should ban Pete from creating new topics after happy hour. Except for in 'The Pub!'
John, there is nothing wrong with Prokart and I didn't say there was ( READ MY POST).
No John, it is not those in charge of the sinking ship that worries you, it is the amount of AKA people that you have pissed off with your ill informed comments and constant conspiracy theories that bothers you.

I just had a 6 month break and I want to race... so, NO!
=D
So peter i can see you have realy thaught about this hard!!! Would you like all the clubs around australia to go broke too??
Start thinking before you put rubbish like this on a forum!
Peter,
While I'm sure many would appreciate your anger and frustration at the AKA, who are rightly deserving of your wrath, I also believe that 'sending them broke' would be analagous to 'chopping off your nose to spite your face' as the old saying goes.
So, lets leave them solvent......at least for now.
By the way, I had a phone conversation the other day with a very well known contributor to this forum. Nothing I know about this person would lead me to believe that they would lie, fabricate or embellish regarding the AKA. This person explained to me that over the years, both directly and via the services of a well placed and sympathetic 'insider', he has collected more than enough documentary evidence to have:
(a) The AKA wound up
and
(b) Civil or possibly Criminal charges laid against office bearers (he did not specify whether current or former).
In other words, this person holds the fate of the AKA in his hands.
But he refuses to act on this information for one very honourable reason. He said to me (and I quote)
"Regardless of what I know and what I can prove beyond any doubt whatsoever, I don't have the right to take Karting away from all those people that get out there every weekend and have a go"
Because the result of this person taking action would be a immediate halt of all activities conducted under the auspices of the AKA. No insurance means No Racing. This would likely be the case until the matter had been dealt with in full. I have no idea how long this would take, but I would imagine we would all get at least 12 months off.
Maybe if we had more people like the gentleman in question holding office within the AKA, we would not need this forum at all.
Please dont't anyone bother to ask me for this persons name, nor any other information that may identify them. If they choose to reveal themselves, I'm sure they will at a time of their choosing. If you are not happy with this, feel free to have a go at me, as I will not be listening. Also, for the legally inclined, as I have not personally cited the alleged evidence, I am (to the best of my knowledge) under no obligation to report it. Even if I was, I would also refrain, for the same reasons as stated above.
Hi Steve,
Its a quandry allright!
What a position to be in? to fix the problem would mean to bring the sport to its knees. If this person did decide to "pull the trigger" it would though have one major benefit, justice would be served, but from then on NO member would ever give such open trust again and would ensure from then on EVERYTHING followed the rules and was transparent.
I just wonder if this person could/should seek some legal advise on how it could be done without such consequences? Maybe approach CAMS and ask them to "temperarliy" take back over karting whilst the matter is sorted at least we can still race!!!!
Tough one, maybe we need a big case of "brinksmanship" maybe advise those in the firing line that if they don't take the "moral" way out and resign steps maybe taken outside the sport?????
One thing is for sure using the A1 process WONT help!!!
CAMS I think maybe the only organisation in a position to do something, may be able to take the delegation off AKA and give it to ?????? to hold onto. but that would take some effort by this person and he/she as well as CAMS to deal with it. CAMS may only have to "rattle their sabre" or even take the sabre out and wave it around a bit and the clubs may act??
Having the threat of imminent closure may just spark action from the grass roots?
Hi Mal,
My info is CAMS are delegating authority to the AKA, and hence can withdraw it.
I would hope that they would NOT wait until they present their belly to the sky as too many ppl would be lost to the sport after all we want is the bad ones gone. Convincing them to step in maybe the hard bit and this person Steve has been talking too would have to play a role.
Hi Pete,
You are correct if you refer to Rulebook RV, maybe they could take the CIK delegation off it may stir some action up??
Peter Edgar said:
Paul.. according to rule book Ralph... CAMS only delegate the FIA CIK authority to the AKA... and hold no power over the Australian Karting Asscociation.... CAMS cannot shut down the AKA....only take the FIA CIK classes from them.. The AKA does not fear CAMS....
