First run with the green box today - I was running gearing that achieved 15700-15900 at the end of the straight - off the Mychron
I could not feel any ignition cut off
Can some let me know if it is a direct ignition cut or a timing variation ie timing retard effect to maintain engine speed.
One thing I did notice was that it felt stonger in the mid range ????

im not sure on that one, but does anyone have a better solution to mounting them? ive only just bought mine and the velcro type stuff that came with it just fell off. has anyone got any ideas?
just drill a few 5mm oles in your nassau and bolt it on!
Peter, it isnt an a actual ignition cut, it just takes alot of timing out. I think from something like 2.5mm advance to 1mm advance... so it will still rev past 15800 with your momentum / tow ect.
Your revs your getting are about right for the end of the straight.
Lots of people are also telling me what you did, it feels alot stronger in the mid range. Thats because, as we no, the engine loves to pull and when you take those teeth of it pulls alot harder. And as we are finding out it isnt any slower, if not faster!.
Its just that before the rev limit, it would only take one person to put 4 teeth on, rev to 17k, and launch out of the corners and everyone would follow. Even though it was slower midrange to top...
Cheers.

Jason i got my limiter last week and found using liquid nails on the velcro and putting on the naussa worked fine.It must be allow to set for 24hrs, even a small clamp to hold it in place if you can,it doesnt move at all now. Also a question about gearing with the new limiter, are people using the same as before or going up or down?
Nathan, I haven running gearing to achieve rpm of 15900 - 16000 since I got my engine, I did not to rev it to hard due to cost for rebuilds etc.
It has had one rebuild after 9 hrs and it looked like new inside. At the weekend, with the same gearing (10-80) with the green box at my home track it definately seemed stonger in ther mid range.
