Re: Lakeside entry form 19/02/12
I was really pleased with my improvement during the day and I know that I have a lot more I can work on to get faster. I was shocked to receive the first place trophy for 125ccGB after the other competitor retired after race 2 but as Rolf says "to finish first, first you must finish".
Yes Stewy I was very nervous before going out for qualifying as many people had warned me that the walls at Lakeside are really close to the track, but once I got out there I had a great time and enjoyed the track.
Thank you to the Queensland Superkart Club, the officials, the other competitors and everyone there for making Sam and I feel so welcomed.
I especially appreciate all the people who helped push me during the day and those who gave me words of encouragement.
And Stewy, thanks for making the trip out to see us and help out - it was great to catch-up with you again.
Oh yeah, thanks to Sam for looking after my Stonda!

Congratulations on the win and lowering your times each session.
As Jack Brabham states you win at the lowest speed possible.
Saves on equipment damage that way ! ;)
Re: Lakeside entry form 19/02/12
Yep, I lasted x2 sessions on Saturday >:(
Kart and engine felt spot-on ...
I've got a tandom cover leak and the clutch was slipping its arse off so no go for me on race day ...
I spent my Sunday by myself, 6pak Coronas and hooked into finishing my Lotus ...
Need a break from the kart now for a few days ...
Couldn't you fix the leak in the 20 odd hrs you had before the race? I have seen people rebuild there engines 2 - 3 times in a day just to get out on track ??? Actually I have even done that

Re: Lakeside entry form 19/02/12
No wonder the doctor was sending me emails during the day to pull my finger out. ;)
It was too humid to do any work on the kart. :-[
Sorry doc, I appreciate all your efforts, maybe I should get fit again and do a little extra between races.
