hi all,
can anyone provide me with the total length and width of one of these karts, looking around at buying a cheap ute or wagon for getting one of these to the track and back. could not seem to spot anything on the cams website in regards to this?
On that subject what sort of wagons, hatchbacks will these fit into?
thanks for any info

Re: International 250 length and width specs
To the Philip Island National round in May I took,
1x Complete Anderson Marage (only the nose cone removed)
1x compressor with 10 metre hose
1x 12 draw Kinchrome toolbox
3x spares breifcases
4x large plastic boxes 500 x 500 x 650mm (full of spares, special tools etc)
6x sets of wheels complete
1x spare complete engine
1x pair of spare pipes and mufflers
1x 60l fuel drum
1x 25l fuel drum
2x deck chairs
1x removed nosecone
1x spare Commodore wheel/tire (lpg tank is in the spare wheel well).
1x kart stand strapped to the roof needing 2 rear slightly ajar windows to pass the straps through (no roof rack)
1x thermos flask
1x Me
all in a VT Wagon.
As cookie said, the new Anderson Maverick is wider so the wing, rear wheels and side pods have to be removed as well as the nose.
To answer your question Feno,
1220 wide x 580 high is the size of a Anderson Mirage with standard wing end plates and it will fit into a Commodore Wagon with a raised floor for the donut LPG tank.
Re: International 250 length and width specs
If you're looking to buy a vehicle.........
Buy a van, no disassembly required (usually)
or a trailer.
(Yes I know I have to fit wets to the rear of mine, but it ALL fits, tools etc.)
Actually I think young Sam may have a vehicle for sale......?

Re: International 250 length and width specs
I also have radio's, trophies and PA on board.
And sometimes even a Bluey, and you know what he likes to bring.
;D
Re: International 250 length and width specs
I started making a trailer 6 years ago. For the last 3 years, all it has needed is the doors fitted along with seals and rego and shes a goer.
Oh well, I will finish it in the next few months as finally time should permit.
It will be really good to be able to back it in the garage after a race meeting and just unhook it. No more unload whilst nackered.
Re: International 250 length and width specs
thanks for all your replies, now I have the size i can do some measuring up.
I have no garage and live in a two bedroom unit and Im allowed one of the rooms to store and work on the kart, so well have to see how that goes, probably move into the living room within the first week! haha.

Re: International 250 length and width specs
Buy a van and keep it in that and do work in the street? do many people do this?
Other than a dunnydoor wagon I was having at look at a townace and a holden combo but length comes into play here.
So the Cams manual states maximum length of these is 2400mm I have seen alot of options for vans that come in around 1790 in length, I realise there a re longer chassis and Im 6'3, but does the fairing removal account for a fair bit of the length in these?

Re: International 250 length and width specs
I think I'm doing it on about 1/8 of the budget you are Ant, unfortunately!
spent 10 bucks and put some leds in the roof of the rear today so I can see stuff in the early morning, night.
picked up the folding ramps for 80 bucks from a wheel chair place in granville, they hook onto the back bar quite snugly on level ground and the bar takes my brothers weight quite well, 120kilos!!!, should do the trick I'd reckon?
all ready for it, just waiting on Brian now!!! :'(

Re: International 250 length and width specs
Ive had my Van for 2years now and use it for work/racing so i have'nt just purchased it for karting only ;)
I like to be self sufficient and i want a 2 kart trailer so i can bring both my 250 National, Stock Honda and my father inlaw will come to a few meets aswell with his 250 National. Better to have a bit more room than not enough i rekon + im travelling alot this year so need to be organised ....
Your wags will be perfect mate, Hopefully your karts ready soon ...
Eastern Creek your first meet ?
Re: International 250 length and width specs
Oh I see on the Van, I envy all people working in racing, it may be a hard graft but it sure beats coping Bureaucratic
bulldust of office heirachy.
yeah its looking like EC at this stage with hopefully a practice session there before to do my OLT.
