what a piece of Shite.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWC4ZecS9v4&ytsession=e_Lx0cbE0n...
these things are slower than rotax heavies around the same tracks.
And this guy is promoting these and press releasing degrading remarks over the superkarts he is supposed to promote with his position with Superkart Working Group?
What a joke.

Mal, again I would love to see backed up evidence of your cheapshots at people.(If laptimes is all you can give me than please don't bother, this is a race car type of contraption, not a go kart.)
IF you can do a better job at promoting a series, promoting a class or even better promoting a happy day smile I would love to see it...
I am speaking now not as a moderator of KB, but as myself, its really disheartening to see people get things off the ground to be run down by the ONE guy that manages to find a negative for every 10 positives we / kartbook have.
I won't be saying anymore Mal.
Enjoy horsepower heaven, shame I can't get there otherwise I would have loved to come say hello. -

Fongy, as if you would miss Horsepower Heaven!?!?

1. Mal, if you can get around Phillip Island in a Rotax Heavy kart faster than Dean Crooke in the Hyper Pro then I will PERSONALLY give you $1000.
2. If you show up at Horsepower Heaven, introduce yourself to me and show me your Victorian Drivers Licence with the name Mal Crosher on it, I will pull $100 out of my wallet right there and then and give it to you.
Do you know why? I've seen the Hyper Pro in action and it is FAST. And I've learnt enough about you to know that you don't exist, and that if you do, you certainly don't have the balls to appear in public.
In any event, there's a good chance I'll be driving the Hyper very soon, so I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes. Not sure how much lead I'll need to bolt on to get around as a Rotax Heavy for a fair comparison though :) -

So you'd be quite happy if we all started racing with a top speed of 10km/h as long as we could follow each other around really closely?
And, if there was an engine out there that doubled your current horsepower and cost exactly the same (maintenance everything). Which option would you prefer to race?
Damian Cane said:Dragging is about speed, Kart racing, all thing being equal as they should be is about driver skill, and getting round the guy in front of you who has the same equipment.
If you've got enough money you can get 500 HP out of an electric pencil sharpener, that proves nothing except who has the fattest wallet. Which is what Dragging is all about. getting the maximum HP and getting the car down the quarter mile fastest, and cost has no relevance.
Kart racing is a skill of setting up the chassis right, and getting that kart on the right lines in the right place at the right time, because all the engines should be the same! There for how fast a particular type of engine is, is irrelevant.
J's aren't as fast as Rotax, yet the racing is just as fierce and competitive, yet they aren't going as fast, they are still racing though! But put a Rotax against a "J" and thats not a race is it!

These things would be fast .Imagine the class with different engine munufacturers get the compitition going like the bikes
Yamaha Suzuki Kawasaki Honda Ktm Tm Ithink we have seen 55hp out of these engines and also when yamahas new 450 gets here looks like it is going to be fuel injected you could have differnet maps for deffernt tracks -

i dont understand how you could call this slow, i thought it was 2 seconds faster than a formula ford around the bryant park place

everybody races in the class they can afford, if one came along that offered more speed for SAME price I would move to that class as well, and some ppl do like the cut and thrust of racing not just outright speed. some spend budgets on karting that would run a tin top car at much faster speed than karts go so why are they racing karts speed or the cut and thrust??
whenever we start these discussions of my class is better/faster/cheaper whatever it ends up in a sh!tfight as well all take offence to someone crapping on the class we race.

I was merely trying to point out that speed IS a large part of racing.

Can I grab this grand off you at HH? Don't have the balls to appear in public..what's that. pffft
Mal, I'm so convinced that you're not a real person, I'm publicly betting $100 dollars that you will not show up at Horsepower Heaven and introduce yourself to me, with a genuine Australian driver's licence in hand, with your name on it.
I'll have the KartBook TV video camera on hand to capture the action, so if you want to make me look like an idiot, just come down and introduce yourself and you'll get a hundred bucks richer, in front of the whole Australian karting community.
Now, if you want to be a THOUSAND dollars richer, you'll need to get yourself into a Rotax Heavy kart at Phillip Island, and do a laptime faster than Dean Crooke, driving the Hyper Pro.
My money's pretty safe, I'm tipping. -
-
ill back you there col
-
-
I dunno... I reckon if Mals half as good at driving as he is at pushing his own wheel barrow, you could be in trouble Col!
