I know currently in QLD the power grid is being updated from what i hear is they expect within 10years that there will be a substantial eletric car market when owners will come home each day and plug their car in.
Its a little while away for Superkarting but well worth watching this short video.

Re: How far away before we see a Superkart version?
Cool, we'll have a power grid that is powered by Gas and Coal (Australia's power grid is currently powered by 75% Coal and 16% Natural Gas). So if anyone thinks they're saving the environment with electric cars powered by Gas & Coal and they're environmentally friendly lithium batteries, they might want to think again. Don't get me wrong, it's all a step in the right direction....but no quite clean...yet. We need a few more solar panels, hydro dams & nuclear power stations before that happens. :)

What about wind farms.....isn't that clean energy generation to charge your batteries.........ohhhhh wait it's an eyesore that spoils the picturesque view. :D :D :D
How about Hyundai with their Hybrid Battery Lifetime Warranty!!!!!
Big US politics will always govern the price of oil so for people to have the need for it. The big thirsty V8's will grace our roads super long time yet, well beyond our life time. ;)
Drongo go get your brand new super worked Camaro, nothing to fear here. ;)

Yes i still wonder why they push plug in cars when power comes from coal????? still not a lot of logic there.
The roof of every car sold should be some type of solar harvesting device.
Mind you will we see road going kers devices soon?
