Okay so here is whats happening with the kart. I have a Leopard RL that had a full bottom end rebuild 5 hours runtime ago and last time I took it out it decided that it didn't want to rev to max rpm anymore, it generally feels smooth but a little weak, it leaves the corner before the straight at about 12000 which is about normal but running down the straight wont get beyond 13000 rpm. The gearing is correct for my track and it has had a carby kit recently before this. Adjusting the carby doesn't help. It also really struggles to idle. I have also checked the reeds and they are fine. It also has a new ECU and new coil.
I don't know if its related could be purely coincidental but my water temp sensor occasionally throws up weird numbers that are not possible (upto about180) however if I stop the kart within a few seconds has returned back to about 60 degrees.
I am selling the kart so I can get something that I can start racing with but finding anyone who will buy a kart with problems even at a steal is a tall order, so id like to fix it myself if possible and not just send it to a shop and pour money into it before I sell it.
I appreciate any help or theory's you guys have that might lead me to the problem so I can sell this kart and get something that I can get out there and racing with!

Make sure the reed block is in the right way. Upside down and the breather hole doesn't line up.
Sounds like it has faulty reed petals to me. Common issue with the RL due to the vibrations, especially when run in the open class. They may look ok and still not be seating correctly.
