It has been brought to my attention that there is a push for a new board position to be created specifically for the CIK event, to be known as the International Karting member. And guess who is pushing for it and the number one candidate?
WHY is this position even been considerd when we aleady have a board member tasked with such duties that would encompass CIK??? why do we need a full on board member to after ONE event? and a couple of dozen karters less than 1% of participants?
Jobs for the boys????
Things don't appear to have changed much so far sadly.

Would rather see someone responsible for the grassroots kids development of the sport. Out of interest which director has that as their responsibility?Â
I did mention earlier that if you have extremely busy people as directors who have limited time to attend overseas meetings outside of their paid positions, that this role would be delegated to someone who loves travel and meetings.
Paul, as you would be aware, 5 board positions were to be filled by way of a selection process. Even though that selection process enacted was somewhat dubious, there are still 2 other board positions to be filled as invitees. One from the Industry and one other. Having said that only a fool would think that the CIK fraternity would not try and infiltrate the board at some level.
No doubt though that some type of lobbying has been happening in the background.
News flash.... The PD's and EOI now removed from the AKA site and the link in the email I received earlier . What gives?
What PD's and what EOI's?
Yesterday there was a link on the AKA homepage that called for expressions of interest for two positions which also outlined the requirements for the candidate.
In the email"Aust Karter"
APPLICATIONS CALLED FOR DIRECTOR INTERNATIONAL KARTING AND COMPANY SECRETARY
The Board of the Australian Karting Association Ltd is seeking applications for the new  positions of Director International Karting; and Company Secretary to the newly formed Australian Karting Association Ltd (AKA Ltd). All applications should be provided direct to the Board of Directors of AKA Ltd through the national office by Friday 31 May 2013. READ MORE...
This morning when I tried to READ MORE the page was no longer.
Maybe just a technical glitch?
There is already a company Secretary in place and at who's discretion allowed them to nominate a board position being for CIK?
Alex,
Â
I'll bet the CIK position has already been filled. and its only one trip away and its only ONE event hardly taxing especially when each board member has a sub committee to help, surely one of these sub committee members could be tasked with CIK stuff. WHY do they need to be on the actual BOARD? Â
Â
Nev,
Â
No doubt its all been planned this way, I also believe the two unfilled positions were to be TEMPORARY not fixed. and as usual things change without due procedure but thats now expected from this lot.
Â
Â
I believe that the Director International karting had more than just CIK as part of the responsibilities, but can't remember all of the details. Also reported in todays Kartsportnews so hopefully a glitch or someone will be a little embarrassed.
Alex
Â
Then can you tell me what the competition director then does?????
Â
to me this is a duplication of a job, and is just being used as a tool to get the "old guard" onto the board, which ironiclly is what they were wanting to do since a decade + ago when it was first passed, they wanted it changed so the door was open to the old guard, no way did they want skilled people to control the sport without some sort of reins held by the few.
Â
This is a prelude to the vital appointments of the sub committees, get their man on the inside to ensure the old guard get a seat, sad really the potential for good things with governance will disappear if the SAME people stay at the helmAlex Poulsen said:

If the information received is correct then a vote of No Confidence should be motioned and Mr Denton removed forthwith from office, or he may do the 'Honourable' thing and resign.
+1
Â
but who will do that given the time frame needed and the effort required. Just goes to show how they operate doesn't it, write all the rules but choose which ones to follow, karters don't have that luxury but admin do!!!! go figure.
Seems that the plot to install the non-existent Board Director role of (International Karting Director) has imploded... the disappearance for an EOI in this non-existent role being removed from the AKA website today some 12 hours after being placed there by "some" authority ...!!!!…it is without doubt that this non-existent position was created with a self-written criteria …. Geez, why does the new AKA Ltd Board need an international karting director ..??? They don’t, !! simple as that ..!!…and especially when we have the Competition Director elect (Mr. .M.Doohan) there to represent competition , and to boot, what better face to be at the FIA when plenary committee meetings take place , who would be best suited ??  and who would achieve more for Australia …???.don’t need to be too smart to work that out ?????
Â
As for the company Secretary role EOI, well that is essential as the "company secretary" is responsible only for ASIC compliance documentation, and maybe some other duties as requested by the board , and so that position requires some expertise and qualification, but should be remunerated to some extent...!!
Â
I don’t think the current “elect” board are that naive to swallow all the details that are being provided by some of the current AKA Inc. administration, and I am sure that they , prior to Sept 1st, will no doubt be seeking views from karting’s punters to establish criteria for a strategic plan for the future..
We have waited a long time for this to occur – for people in power to relinquish that power, and even at the last minute the trail of self appointment remains rife as part of the culture that we have wanted so long to eliminate.. Attached is the AKA Ltd Constitution as you can see there is no place for an International Karting Director…..The attached constitution clearly outlines the requirement at R7 onwards
