A couple of questions:
1) What would it take to get ok to run a combined 5 round comp on club days?
2) Would the interest be there to make it happen?
Just a thought, I know the Snr heavy in Mackay is healthy but nowhere else around the area. And it seems to be the opposite for the Lights.
The proposal would be to keep to the governing rules per say but come to an agreement on minimum weight and combine the 2 classes for an Inter City rivalry championship. This could cover Gladstone, Rocky, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns as an example. Each club gets to host a round and points combined over rounds to find a champ. Of course this will also need the approval of the clubs to hold a round at their cub meet. But I think everyone would win.
Benefits are a) Combined class means bigger fields to race in during those selected meets.
b) Clubs don't lose out, still have same noms for Light/Heavy and maybe a few extra travellers come along to these meets.
I would definately be a supporter of this, and believe it may help in picking a few new members with a bit of publicity with big fields(allbeit smoke and mirrors). I know there are some whispers floating around the pits and shops about this topic, so lets get it out there and see what people think. Would this work in your neck of the woods? Would this work for Junior J as well?

there shouldnt be senior j's
the heavies go the same speed as rookies
most of the ppl who run them who run up the front run two classes anyway
the AKA needs to get rid of some classes
Jarrod if you haven't got any constructive comments to say about the topic being discussed then i think you should keep your comments to yourself.

Glenn it is constructive
the AKA needs to get rid of some classes and most people would choose to get rid of senior j's first

As much as some will agree with you mate, this topic is not about this, can you possibly keep this one on topic. even just start your own thread if you think it should be gone. Cheers.
oh well, Jarrod doesn't think it will work, would it help boost fields at other clubs, thats all I'm trying to find out, just trying to add a little more excitement to club days if running in a field of 20+.
Or Jarrod, are you suggesting that they just combine lite and heavy completely with a weight range in the middle?

Then from what your saying, the Clubman Super Heavies should be scrapped also, as they go almost as fast the Senior National Lights on some tracks...
But its not a good idea to scrap them, as you some ppl cnt help how heavy they are and just really like racing.
And with the senior J classes, some people don't have alot of money to throw at karts so the J classes are perfect for them! They are cheap to run, and allow some very good racing.
It depends where you are as to the strength of the classes. Senior J- Light is really strong and competitive in Sydney and events such as PSC. Last round of PSC was fully subscribed.......
Hahahaha hide your cats. Iv just quit js because theres no competition but i agree with terry on the racing thing no matter what class you race you will never get the kind of racing you get when you put a group of experienced j drivers together. terry did you get fat last time i checked you were running j lights
shame u wont be gettin the best shiny plastic ;)
Terry Cobb said:Bahaha, nah i haven't gotten fat bud, im going to run heavys and lights at the titles. Was going to do clubman but didn't see the point in spending all that money to run mid pack with a not so good engine/kart. Just wanted to do 2 for track time and more shiny plastic.
