Always good to keep track of Matt Wall an Jason Hrynuik's friendly rivalry. Great competitors with great attitudes.
Hi Guys,
I'm keen to see more match ups between Deadly and young Jame Kovacic - haven't heard or seen much about the Nat's other than Dave's results. Dave's really been setting the bar, both here and OS.
Friendly Rivalry is a good thing - it's keeps the competitive spirit alive and brings more and more drivers along with it.
Cheers
Phil
Back in the day, James Sera vs. Matt Wall in Clubman Light... everyone flocked to the fence to watch.
Then Matt Wall vs. Dave Sera in Leopard... especially at Bolivar Nationals ;)
Adam I think you could put Matty Hayes into that mix as well. The 3 have had some classics. Also Jnr Clubby over resent years has been good as well. Benny Lincon, Scotty Mac, Garry Jacobson, Jordie Ford. the list just goes on. Some of the best racing ever
Here's a few other West Australian's apart from Greg Dicker who have some tasty little battles in the past- David Clark and Greg Ritter ( both moved on to V8's), Brad Fitch and Mark Winterbottom, Lloyd Bilick and Arnett (at Bolivar), Amrit Kandola and Jordan Nicholau and last but not least Kip Foster and too many to mention although Varley, Mitchener, Pringle and Hunt spring to mind.
For two years I had a standing bet that Kovacic and Mostert would crash each other out of anything they both entered!! I usually won (though no-one was silly enough to bet against me)... How many times did Nick Foster win from third after they crashed each other off?
Funniest moment was at Cobden VIC open when they passed each other three times a lap for the whole race (and STILL pulled away from the field!), one lap as he drove past on the straight, Mostert sat up, turned sideways to face Kovacic and waved, Sesame Street style... it was hilarious. More memorable than the result, anyway, 'cause I can't remember who won :-)
Wall-E vs Sera when Dave first turned seniors, the master vs the apprentice. Every photo from back then has those two on the front row...
Yeah Col you're right, it was awesome watching those 2 because you always knew something was about to happen, like in the final of the (year?) NSW titles (just before the line) and the Eastern Creek Nationals...
in tassie i reckon the ones that are always battling have been:
jackson evans vs mitchel evans (midgets through to SNL)
danton evans vs kyle young (as midgets)
dale madden vs david cramp (O40s)
jamie bricknell vs daimon and aiden shelton (midgets-leopard)
loved watching Reif Corbett and Ben Savage fight it out in Clubman Pro at the City Of Adelaide back in the late 90's as a young midget/rookie.
Jeff Boyd and Kym Pearce also had some really good dog fights in the Over 40's Clubman class over here..
always very fast and very clean racing between the 4 i mentioned. was good to watch and learn from guys like these.
