Well I have to say (according to the blurb) that KA should be congratulated for the excellent turnout for the first round. 291 over 9 classes is a great turnout and yes, it is the biggest event held at Monarto to date. Last time the Nationals were held here in 2013 the 9 classes offered attracted 225 and that was for a stand alone event.
So it will be interesting to see what the last round at Port Melbourne attracts given they would expect a good number of single event participants.

2 cancelled meetings ( but to be fair one was due to the hot weather policy I believe)
Mt Gambier just held their club meeting with 18 entrants.... good to see the club giving to its members even though it was definitely a loss event ....maybe they were all big eaters and the canteen made a profit
Hopefully now the hot weather is moving on the local clubs will start to see some participation
