Just wondering what the best clutches for a Clubman short shaft is? Ive heard good and bad about all of the ones i know of, so if you have a clutch could you please tell me the good and bad points of them. If possible i want to try and get one before the Nationals.

Strike for clubman is best as a boat anchor, destorys cranks AND slips 24/7.... anything we tried it just simply didn't work.
hey Daniel
some people reckon the Italsport red Clutch is good. We were going to buy that, before the AKA changed their minds (YET AGAIN), about when clutches are to be compulsory.
Blake and Lucas run the Red Clutch, i'm pretty sure...they had it on for 100 lapper. Ask them how it is.
I run a red clutch and have had no problems. It seems to lock up well and not slip. You just have to keep up the maintainence. I pull mine off after everyday out and clean and grease. Make sure you have a touque wrench and do it up according to the instructions.
Thanks for that Fongy, i didnt think the strike one was real good.
As for what Callan and Josh said, i used to have a red clutch until last night. Cracked it in 4 places and nearly stripped my crank where the keyway is. i pulled it apart everyday and cleaned/lubed bearing etc, probably even more than recomended. Anyway i dont want to get another red clutch because they are prone to failure. i know of 4 others that has had this ame problem now.

Thanks Mick, I think i have it sorted now. St George Kart Centre have told me they will replace it as it was a faulty series one. However i may look at getting another clutch in the future, maybe tomar when they make one for the short shaft clubbies.
Hi daniel.
i have tested the strike and tomar, the strike's performance wasn't to bad but the quality just didnt match the tomar. i am currently having a red clutch to test though we have had problems getting it fitted maybe we just hit a dud so cant really give you any feedback on it as yet. As for the tomar its performance was brilliant. there small compact and light. the desighn is brilliant simple and excellent quality. though im not sure weather they have brought one out for the short shafts yet! but its definatly my pic!!
Why even bother?
The introduction of them will be postponed again.
I can't see them becoming mandatory in Clubman until the AKA does some serious testing with them, or the manufactures make them bullet proof.

all the clutches i've tried were absolute crap ! don't even bother !
i reckon the tomar clucth is great ,no having to oil the stupid thing dosent jam and easy as to fitt
Yeah ive heard the tomars really really good
however it is not here yet, from what i hear, because there isnt a short-shaft one out yet, because over there they run long shafts.
and they are having problems with wear and eveyrthing. *i think
Wait i think im mistaken with the troy Corser
