Best way of loading karts onto top rack of trailer?
By Zaki Mohzani, 28 February, 2011
Could you guys share some tips on loading a kart onto the top rack by yourself. This is especially tough on me since I have close to 20kg of lead strapped to the kart and a kart stand that half a feet lower than the top rack. Cheers
Hi Zaki
Build a crane in your trailer --- i did for that very reason, no one to help, so easy now i will try and post some pics
its not that exspensive i think it cost me about 275 bucks or there abouts. it took a little while to adjust and get it sweet but now everyone just looks in amazment as i crane my clubby out and on to the stand ready to go.

x 2 for Crane, we have one in our trailer.
Hi Zaki
What I have been doing is (stupid as it sounds).. I pull the kart as close as i can to the trailer on the trolley.... left the front end up just so the wheels are on the top deck of the trailer... ( so the kart is basically resting on the trolley except the front wheels, if that makes sense).
( I should point out that the way we pack our karts in the 2 kart trailer is top goes in nose first bottom goes in rear first.)
Then I goto the rear of the kart lift the back wheels up and slide the kart in... ( with the front wheels already being on the top deck the kart seems to be very easy to lift from the rear up onto the trailer).
took me a few goes to get use to but now i don't need to rely on anyone being home to give me a hand if i want to work on the kart :).
I suppose you could call it the free no cash spent way hehe. doesn't damage the kart at all.
Cheers
Brett
Hey Micheal, you have pics of it? I've never seen a crane system at the track.

Hey Brent,
That's what I've been doing all this while. It works but it's still a pain for me especially if the ground ain't level. It's already giving me back pains.

Hi Zaki,
I had some ramps made that lined up with ramps in the trailor just walked the the trolly and kart up the ramp and onto the trailor then tied the lot down quick and easy. Have seen another set-up same as mine except it had a boat type winch that was at the car end when the cable attached to the trolly just wound it up like a boat, no need for lifting and risking back injury.
could take steroids? kidding :p
x2 for pictures of the crane setup

Micheal, that's an impressive system.. I'm astonished. Is it powered by the 12V battery within the trailer?

Hi,
Is there anyone who can share photos or videos of the crane system mentioned here?
