its definately arse but being aussies we are also lazy hence why its easier to spell it ass. i dunno bout you but i rekon i could finish a beer before typing in that extra letter hahahaha
'arse' is the correct way.
When you say it you don't pronounce it 'ass' you pronounce it how it's spelt 'are-sss', unless your an idiot...
hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

Even an ex pat kiwi knows how to say Arse Eg: How good's the arse on that sheep!
Think of it this way:

Every Ass has an arse, but not every arse has an Ass :)
Of course, if the Ass is in Canberra, it could very well have TWO arse's, one of which comes and goes from time to time.
It's arse.Â
 For sure.Â
What we REALLY shouldn't ever do, is take our spelling cues from the yanks. Let's be honest, center, color, mom, - it's NOT English..........it's lazy.
What grinds my gears (thanks Peter Griffin) is when people become confused eg. a metric metre becomes
a (parking?) meter, an earth stake becomes a (porterhouse?)Â steak..........
I love this -
American asks Canadian "Will I be able to speak English in your country?"
Canadian replies "Yes, but first you must learn it"Â Â Â
Lolz

We drink it. What do you do with yours?
It has to be "Arse" as if you said , "You are a Horses Ass" it would be a contradiction as an "Ass" is supposed to be half horse and half donkey. But then again what end is horse and what end is donkey. I am now confused.
Build hotrods in it.

By the way Mal, I don't believe there is a Castlemaine in Queensland. I'm pretty sure FourEcks was originally brewed down here in Vic.
