Cooloola Coast Kart Club held the Qld Over 40's Championship this weekend in Gympie. Well done to Andrew Scott. Andrew won both heats and pre final only to have a shocker of a start in the final and drop back to mid field. A great drive over the 16 laps saw Andrew back in the lead and making an impressive gap for the last 5 to 6 laps.
Robin Peterson (driving Kel T's number 75 Kosmic) fought hard and with the fastest lap time of the race started to gain on Andrew only to have the laps run out as he got onto the back of his Monaco.
Trevor Beetham of Harrington Doyle Racing looked to fall asleep mid race after leading the earlier laps, but came back to claim 3rd.
Fastest qualifier Neville Honeychurch seemed to be involved in dramas on the track all weekend and started from the back of the grid in the final, only to flip his kart (and walk away) as he made his way through the field.
