Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
Being a NSW member will the juniors be running at the race meetings we run at would be good to see more young blood around the pits and some of the juniors prsent themselves and there karts very well
good luck to all the juniors that compete in next years junior class
Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
Hmmmmm.
where's the incentive for the return customer ?
Personely, I don't see any advantage to offer prizes that leads karters away from the sport. The only organisation this works for is CAMS in order to get competitors into higher costing disaplines.
A big event held here recntly was offered a airfair ticket to the US and a test in a formula BMW to the 1st place winner of KZ class or $1000, all voted for the $1000 instead. All citing in general that the test wouldn't lead to anything because none were prepared to fund any follow up from that test and in reality all knew that said test was really just a revunue raising excersize for another driver already guaranteed the seat anyway. The other reason was in comparison to Gearbox karting , FBMW etc was a backwards step in finding good competition to compete against.
Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
The "prize" is extensive training at the A.I.S. not a drive of a formula Ford, that's just the iceing on the cake.
Thanks for your suggestions, the Championship is doing just fine though.

Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
But because I'm assuming rules that I infact know nothing about, what I said above just makes me look like a dick and I am pretty close to being banned from the forum. Maybee next time I'll post something constructive
Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
YES you must run the ROTAX JUNIOR BARREL. (as per current CAMS reg's)
All the rules will be available shortly.
You can also get them now from the CAMS website, however we will be putting restrictions on Tyres, Jetting, and gearing that may be used.
This way we may get some good close competitive racing.
There will also be a seasoned mentor to help father and son get it together, there will be race apparel you will have to wear, there will be stickers you must have on your kart, you will all garage together as a group, and only sprint plastics will be allowed.
More later.

Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
And what a hugely successful day it was.
A brief report and the results can be found at:
http://www.webmastersvictoria.com/junior.html
Many thanks to the competing Juniors
Re: A.M.S.F. Junior Rotax Championship
All 8 Juniors had best lap times within 3 tenths of each other and the first 5 were home within 2 tenths of each other after 7 laps of racing.
The best racing to be seen anywhere is this Junior Championship.
