Last weekend the X30 'world champion' got excluded for stopping, acknowledging the crowd and hugging a competitor (Austraila's Kip Foster) Vettel does similar and gets a fine. Doesn't seem fair. Yes both broke the rules but seems unfair to me. Rather excessive from the CIK. Here's a link but there are plenty of others over the couple of weeks or so on kartsportnews.com. This is not a defence of Kip Foster or a rant at the AKA who have nothing to do with this (so dont vent at anyone in Australia) but seems a bit unfair.

It wasn't a CIK event? And yes it is rediculous. Where's the compassion!
Copy of my message sent to our AKA - perhaps it should be from - We the Australian Karters -
"Dear AKAI request that our AKA lodges an appeal against the decision to exclude Fredric Blin and Kip Foster from the 2013 IAME INTERNATIONAL FINAL - X30 Master class.Such bullshit should not be allowed in sport.PS I notice Vettel did a few donuts and is still World F1 Champion for the fourth time!RegardsGreg N SmithVery disappointed Official"
Here here!
And weren't those donut's round and on top of each other!
Precision driving.
He is a smart ass.
But a bloody good driving smart ass!
A few years a go it was accepted practice for the first 3 cars at the V8s to do a lap of honour after the chequered flag, but in front of the zero car, and then park on the main straight. The drivers would then acknowledge the crowd, maybe do a donut or five, and then go to parc ferme. It was accepted by the teams that if the cars were underweight after that lap they copped the penalty. As far as PR goes, and therefore local crowd entertainment goe, it was the best thing going.
Now that the TV mob controls things, they want the cars in close together as soon as possible for the best and most controlled camera shot, allow the spruikers (so called commentaters) a chance to be seen on TV as soon as possible, and allow the networks to have the event all over with at the time of their choosing so they can control what adverts they show. The TV stations hate red flagged races!
To say the 'come in straight away after the finish " is a safety item is a load of garbage.
Allowing drivers to cross the line , do a victory lap (first 3 cars/karts on the final race for the class for that day ) and stop on the main straight to acknowledge the people watching, take your kudos, show off, what ever you want to call it, should be part of our scene . However it should be part of the same ruling that if you are under weight at parc ferme after wards because you used extra fuel, you cant use the consequences of having done a victory lap to exonerate your infringement.
Stopping and shaking hands in a safe place should also be encouraged - that is good sportsmanship. I agree with the current ruling of hands on wheel when the kart is moving though.
NASCAR - they are doing it right...
They know how to treat their customers - the fans. Even the TV covers the victory cellebrations.
Dear Remo
I've read the race report on your website including ...
"France protagonist also in the X30 Master, with the top trio made of Thierry Raccamier (Kosmic), author of a nice climb from 4th to 1st in the final, prefinal winner Nicolas Duchateau (Alpha) in 2nd, and Samy Nerguti (Kosmic), who manages to contain Maton’s mad rise from 22nd at the start and keep him at bay in 4th place."
Can you please confirm that Fredric Blin was the first to cross the finish line in the final of the 2013 IAME INTERNATIONAL FINAL - X30 Master class ?
I understand he was not as successful in the Steward's room.
In which country was the meeting held ?
Thanks Greg N Smith
