What's going on here ?
I reckon if I pulled correspondence out from either side from few years ago there'd be a few people proven to so full of shit. Boys clubs what can you do ?
Does this mean CAMS running sprint kart meets ?
Note : lack of industry bullshit placed individual classes.

links? was about to post off my cams log book application
OK i'm quite lost as to why this kills open performance, but personally as someone who has had to choose between cams and AKA primarily due to licencing costs of both, I would be very happy to see SA supers switch to AKA. I don't think they would as they are not run as an exclusive karting meeting (running with Modern Reg under CAMS), but I can dream.
I'ld like to hear from someone in superkarting, but My guess is it'll stay as is for now in most of the states.Â
Hi Mal I used to race superkarts and was wanting to go to AKA could you please clarify your above post? Â Its not making much sense to me Have you missed a few words in your post or am i just not reading it right???Â
My apologies If i sound rude but its just not making sense could you elaborate on your post
Hi Mal,
First I'll correct you a little.
CAMS and MA have agreed to hold four wheel and two wheel meetings. And as far as I know that still stands.
As far as all the club presidents know, (yes we have all been in touch) we've heard this from you, and have read the bulletin as published, CAMS have not told us and no deals have been done.
(that we know about anyway)
At the moment we don't know what's going on either.
Just like you we're waiting to see what plays out.
To say the least it will be very interesting.
Well i think perhaps one of your clubs maybe holding back on you ?
Name it? I DARE YOU. Or NAME the DELEGATE, PM me if you have too.
Where does CIK come into this now ? You been beaten to official KZ long track ?
CIK? KZ long track? beaten to what?
There will be blood.
Don't be dramatic. Or did you cut yourself?
The Superkart clubs are wondering???? NOT who we can attack.
hahaha laugh out loud time fellas ..........
Long and short of it is that the WA boys with Superkarts could not get onto a long track under CAMS, they don't have CAMS licenses, the local club no longer exists and therefore has no CAMS affiliation etc. So the old-timers got talking with the local AKA guys and decided to try to re-introduce long circuit karting back to AKA.
Gets juicy now in that the AKA agreed at NKC level to this, and their rulebook goes Australia wide, and it was far faster and simpler to use the current Superkart rules than re-invent the wheel, or head off in a whole new direction.
Now to the fun part. 3 of the 4 CAMS Superkart club presidents decided that they hate each other and CAMS, and they don't like their own club delegates who attend the CAMS National Superkart Association. This is the body that CAMS set up to connect the 4 clubs to the rule-makers in CAMS. Now that body is a massive dissapointment and so as I said the club presidents no less moved motions at their own clubs in just the last 2 weeks to withdraw their clubs from this CAMS body. The Qld and SA club members voted with the presidents , the Victorian club would not have a bar of it and no vote got taken. So all we are waiting on is the reaction from the 4th club and its president as to whether it wants to withdraw from the CAMS decision making process. Then where does Superkarting go ... well with Chapter 48 now in the AKA rule book the clubs could vote to move back to the AKA and their withdrawal from CAMS would be complete. With 3 of the 4 club presidents demonstrating they no longer want to be a apart of the CAMS "process", this is a pretty clear path. Now lets wait for the next chapter ..........
think ill hold off sending that cams log book request in for a bit lol
Mal,
I am not backing away from my Interesting times comment as we Presidents have heard nothing.
And we have "invited" KZ's to share track time with us on at least two occassions. so what?
Ian,
ALL FOUR Presidents are talking and are on very good terms.
IN MY OPINION!!! Im so glad I have nothing to do with this shit anymore that decision was easier than shooting fish in a barrel. Just goes to prove in the 2 years I have been away nothing has changed. Still a bunch of children throwing their toys out of the cot. And everyone on here can see how stupidly childish billy kart racing with lawn mower motors really is. AKA NSA SWG no one wants to chat, talk or make fair and just decisions for the sport of karting as while in this country. Good luck with it all im out
Â
Hey Mal,
Can you give me (self confessed AKA tunnel vision karter) a run down on where this issue started ?
I have been looking for my 81/82 rulebook ( somewhere in the shed) but don't remember anything other than sprint and speedway(?)Â
Obviously there is some history here, and I am sure that others like myself would like to hear why this is perceived as a problem etc...Â
